OK Venom fans, get a look at this beauty - an utterly unique item from one of the original Venom Unholy Trinity: the arch-goat himself, Mantas. Be under no illusion, this is the real deal, guaranteed forever.
Up for auction is the Mantas LP Winds of Change (a.k.a. Project 1) in both a mint, unplayed test pressing AND the standard album, PLUS a letter from Mantas himself written in goat's blood (not really, I made that bit up) in 1988 under his real name, Jeff. The rear of the sleeve is signed by him too with a small dedication to the original recipient. THIS ITEM IS GENUINE. I GUARANTEE IT ABSOLUTELY!
I've been on ebay for years; check my feedback and bid with confidence.
I live in the north-east of England, close to where Venom and Neat Records were based.
(I have a lot of Neat Records NWOBHM vinyl/memorabilia etc. Check my one-off multi-coloured Fist LP that's up for auction too).
It comes with a letter written on Neat Records official letterhead with embossed silver logo. For the record, the 'Dipstick' mentioned in the letter is a place called 'Dipton' which is about 3 miles away from me - check it on a map if you wish. It was a little joke on Mantas's part to the recipient who lived in Dipton (it's in County Durham, England, fact fans and geographers).
This item comprises the following:
One test pressing of WoC with matrices Neat 1042 A-1 / NEAT 1042 B-1 in unplayed condition;
One officially-released LP of WoC with matrices RR9515A / RR9515B in played condition with some light surface marks but nothing serious. Does it matter?
One inner sleeve with light ringwear but no splits etc;
One outer sleeve with light ringwear and creases;
One Unique letter from Mantas (writing under his real name of Jeff) on Neat Records-headed paper in his own handwriting.
I feel that the minor wear to the sleeves is insignificant here, as the TP and letter are the main items (unless you're mental).
