Description

Firstly this record is ultra rare but it isn’t in mint condition and I am not to pretend that it is. As such I have play tested both sides from start to finish on my Rega P6 with a gold ring 2400 cartridge to give a detailed assessment that identifies any sound issues to provide an honest assessment of the sound warts and all. This is NOT a mint condition record.

the record was played fairly loudly at reasonable listening levels and as such this may mask sound issues such as static if played at low volume levels. I only say this as records should be played reasonably loudly.

from a visual inspection the lp is in very good condition with a few light marks on both sides More so on side one which has A light mark that runs across the surface.

Side 1 plays through from start to finish without sticking. The sound quality would be described as very good using the record collector grading system. My grading takes account of A number of low level pops here and there on side 1. These are generally low level and don’t intrude significantly and as always more noticeable in the quieter sections. There are also two sections where there is a slight sound distortion each of these are minor lasting about 1 seconds. Other than this the sound quality is strong throughout.

Side 2 would be described as very good using the record collector grading system. There are a few minor pops. Other than this the sound quality is strong throughout.

The lp cover is probably around good to very good condition. The flip backs are all free from damage and there are no splits etc. There is some rubbing around the edges. The main defect with the sleeve is discolouration on the back. there is also some minor creases. Please see photos of the cover so you can judge for yourself.

Overall a fairly good copy of this incredibly rare original Columbia LP from the absolute dawn of the stereo age. It isn't mint or excellent condition so please don't buy and hope that it is.

my feedback is 100% with and this is based on an honest approach to buying and selling.

i don't have a buy it now price and i will let the auction run to the end.

Just for clarity. The sound quality on the lp has been described bearing in mind the rarity of this record. The record is in very good condition

I was asked about the numbers of pops I refer to in the listing description. please also see description for details of sleeve and more details of audio quality.

The pops I refer to are generally similar to the crackle or slight surface noise you would notice in the quieter sections of any classical record that has obviously been played. The pops on side two are not numerous and if played at a reasonable listening volume are not really that noticeable. Possibly 3 or 4 on side two you might notice. On side one there is a section where you can hear  about 10 low level pops in quick succession plus maybe 4 or 5 others

The record has not been professionally cleaned.

The mother stamper numbers are 1G on both sides of the LP.

The labels on both sides are nice and clean with a couple of faint spindle traces.

I will post anywhere in the world and the shipping costs included in the listing include tracking and insurance.

I hope this addresses all queries.
