Up for auction is a superb copy of one of the "Holy Grails" of jazz collecting, Kenny Dorham's album "Quiet Kenny" released on New Jazz Records in 1959.  This is a guaranteed, original first pressing with deep groove labels and RVG in the run-out.  An absolute must-have for any serious jazz collector.
The cover is in beautiful condition.  The lamination retains its original high gloss shine, with no signs of separations, lifting or bubbles.  No signs of ring wear.  Corners are sharp with only a very minor crease in one (see photo).  There is some very minor chipping loss on a few of the corners (see photos).  The seams are strong and intact, no splits, no cracking.  The back cover is ultra clean, bone white, just as new.  No ring wear, no writing, no rubbing losses.  Graphics are clean.  Tiny crease in upper left corner (see photo).  No signs of age discoloration.  Overall, this cover looks close to new, and one of the nicest examples you'll ever come across.  Presents beautifully.  I'd grade this cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
The vinyl is in stunning condition.  Retains all of its original full gloss shine.  No scratches or scuffs.  Labels are bright and clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little, if any, previous play or handling.  When I first acquired this copy, the vinyl looked "as new," virtually un-played, not a mark on it.  And it has remained in my archive, after I played it once to check it for fidelity, which is absolutely beautiful.  It plays "as new" with no signs of any groove wear caused by previous play.  Super clean, full-bodied mono sound.  I seriously doubt you could find a cleaner copy of this jazz rarity.  Virtually impossible to up-grade.  I'd grade this record easily as Near Mint (NM).  Should satisfy even the most discerning of collectors.
Copies of "Quiet Kenny" in this condition rarely come up for sale.  It's highly unlikely you'll see another copy this nice any time soon.
