John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits Roots - Original Extremely Rare.  One of only about 300 copies left.  Vinyl only.  No jacket or cover included.

John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits Roots Rare Vintage Lp Record.

This is an extremely hard to find vinyl of what would later become Rock & Roll released by John Lennon in 1975 after his record label sued him for recording with AdamVIII label.

Condition is Used. Sold as is and no returns will be accepted.   There are slight visible scratches on both sides and song "Be bop a lula" skips on my TT but all other songs play when  I tested the record out on my system and no sound issues were detected!! The sound quality is surprisingly amazing and worth a listen!! Please feel free to ask any questions!!
No returns accepted!!

Notes about this particular release :

Recorded on this album are Lennon's versions of what became his "Rock & Roll" album with Capitol. The recording of this album resulted in a lawsuit by Capitol records for recording with AdamVIII label.  Lennon later released an album with similar tracks on Capitol but cut his hair as a sign of rebellion and in my opinion the songs sound very different.   Unless you've heard this record in person you've never heard these tracks on radio.

The ensuing law suit was resolved in favor of Capitol Records. Production of this LP was halted, existing copies destroyed, no radio distribution of these tracks was ever allowed and about 300 copies survived.  I was amazed to listed to these songs, as distribution thru normal channels (radio) was banned.

This record is so rare that thousands of counterfeit vinyl copies were manufactured.

This is the criteria to verify an original pressing:

1) If The record is unusually thick piece of vinyl-its a fake.
2) if the label on the record is unusually large compared to a standard 1970's pressing-its a fake. 3) If the trail off area of the record does not have a machine stamp BELL SOUND-its a fake. But beware some counterfeits do have BELL SOUND stamped in the dead wax.
4)There is one definitive thing that separates the originals from the fakes..All original copies have the matrix number of A 8018 A  pressed into Side 1 Label. It's visible on the deadwax and on the label itself.  No counterfeits have this feature.
This being said, this copy meets all the criteria to identify an original pressing.  See pictures of authenticity proof.  I can send more pics.
