Though I have been selling on Ebay for years, this is my first foray into selling LP's. Long story somewhat shorter....A gentleman who has been a jazz aficionado for more than 50 years has asked me to sell his vast LP collection for him. He has been paying to keep them in a climate controlled for almost a decade, and is tired of paying to store records he no longer plays. He is also in his 90's and wants to sell these now, and not leave this "problem" for his children.
This will be a very SLOW process. The Owner of these LP's lives quite a distance away from me,(and is not online) and I have to mail him a list of LP's I bring home so he can say whether or not I should sell these. Yes, he wants to keep some, at least for sentimental value, since he has most of the music already on Cds. So, please keep checking back in the coming days/weeks/months as I put these records up! Also, please check out the photos below. I'm going to use larger images than most sellers, which will probably make the records look worse than in person, but at least there should be no surprises for you!
If you are a John Coltrane fan, then you most likely are aware of this very, rare LP! From what I have read, this LP was privately pressed by the Coltrane family. CRS 5000. Pink label, with purple gate-fold. LP I think I can conservatively grade as VG++. This LP is not as lustrous as some other LP's I have listed lately, but see no scuffs or scratches. My purely amateur guess is that a smaller pressing like this is the reason. Just being very honest about everything to do with this LP. As you can see, the gatefold is very nice, just some corner wear, and slight edge wear , VG++. Not crazy about the paper sleeve, a bit hard to pull in and out of the jacket. Ok.
