Description
I’m a retired jazz musician, and will be selling a bunch of my old jazz records over the next month or so. Please note I am unable to meet in person - all records will be carefully packed and shipped. I tend to grade conservatively, and am easy to deal with if a return is needed.
John Coltrane “Coltrane Jazz,” Atlantic Records 1354 mono vinyl LP. This is a 1961 pressing, having the orange/plum label with white fan and no registered trademark above the fan. No deep groove. Since Atlantic outsourced their pressing and printing to multiple firms, there is some debate as to whether or not this can be considered a first pressing. Please see all info and photos and make your own judgment. This particular label without deep groove does not appear to be present on Discogs.
Matrix / Runout (Side A runout): 11697-B̶[scratched out]-D [Ankh symbol] AT M 3
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout ): 11698-B̶[scratched out]-C [Ankh symbol] AT M 1
Sleeve: NM- with very light wear, some lamination separation at bottom, extremely nice overall.
Vinyl: NM. Incredibly clean, quiet, outstanding listen. Looks practically new with a few superficial marks. Likely played less than 3 times.
