Description

John Coltrane [with Elvin Jones, Jimmy Garrison, McCoy Tyner] A LOVE SUPREME  Impulse A-77, recorded 1964. MONO ORIGINAL, ORANGE-AND-BLACK LABEL.   Disc surface is very strong, though it has been played: Plays very strong M-. Both labels were printed with some bubbling contour underneath. They’re intact, and entirely legible, but they do have some tangible relief. Original inner sleeve is perfect.  Glossy jacket is a marvel beyond belief:  Most copies probably didn’t make it to stores as clean, flat, and strong as this copy still is. 2 barely visible handling lines on front cover, and a small patch of price-sticker residue in upper right—easily cleaned off, if you’re into that.


Here’s the second of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
