Truly excellent condition first pressing of this incredibly rare and important single by Joy Division. I wont list this as ‘unplayed’ but it has genuinely been played minimally and I have only played it once to test the audio quality and vinyl condition - which is excellent.
Sleeve
The textured paper tri-fold sleeve is in truly excellent condition. There is no damage to any surface, no rips or tears, no stains, no ink marks. It is perfectly clean. Only the slightest sense of any edge wear / rubbing to the lower and right side edges, but this is genuinely minimal and natural for an item that is 44 years old. All inner surfaces are excellent and all print areas and images are crisp and clear, no colour fading at all to any surface. It has been stored cleanly and away from sunlight.
The tracing paper inner record slot is excellent with no damage. The browning visible glue line below is almost standard on the original copies as it has aged over time and is a sign of an original 1st pressing. However it has still held the tracing paper area in place.
Record
The record has been played minimally, probably less than 3 times in total. I have only played it once both sides to confirm audio quality. Visually it has an excellent shine, it is straight, there is no warping to the record. It doesn’t contain any deep scratches or marks of damage. No lights scratches and only 2-3 wispy lines, it looks visually near mint - as would be expected. The sound is excellent, it is clear and loud. There is only natural needle to record slight noise, no sticks or jumps and no loud pops that affect audio at all.
It has the serrated edge around the label confirming a 1st and original press.
The label is clear and clean, no damage, no writing.
Inserts
This copy contains both of the original inserts. The small blue ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ paper insert and the white English translation document. Both are in excellent condition with no damage, staining or writing.
