Description
Up for auction is Blue Train by John Coltrane. Blue Note BLP 1577.
Disc: VG. Original true first pressing per Fred Cohen. 47 W63 no (R) label side 1 and NY23 label side 2. P or "ear", stamped RVG, deep groove, 9M, and beaded edge. Disc is a strong VG with light hairlines and scuffing. Both labels have slight fading, as well as a name stamped in purple ink.
Cover: VG. Original laminated cover with 47 W 63rd address. Cream/grey type on front. Photo of Curtis Fuller does not have the print error, indicating an original. Cover has small seam splits on top and bottom near the opening, a 4-inch split on the spine. There is some light edge flaking and lamination peel. "4.98" written on back cover in pencil, as well as the same name stamp as on the labels.
All records have been professionally cleaned on a VPI machine.
