SHIPPING IS NOT £4.50 FOR UK - IT'S £7.50 FOR EVERYONE, REGARDLESS COUNTRY (Up to 5 records). REGISTERED / SIGNED-FOR MAIL ONLY.
Jackie Day – “Before it’s too late (vocal)” / Arthur Wright Orch. - “Before it’s too late (instrumental)”, Modern / Mirwood thing – 70’s thing I guess.
Record: visual VG (has some larger scuffs and light overall superficial wear, but nothing that causes any problems. Might have some pops etc. that I haven’t noticed, so please listen to the sound files. See scans for writing and stamps on labels)
Nice soul.
This 45 comes from the collection of a person called Des Cook. I don’t know who he is or was, but he apparently moved from the UK to Denmark some time ago and about 5-6 years ago he sold a lot of his records, if not all, to two Danish dealers from whom I later bought a lot. He was a soul DJ and having grown up in the UK during the 70’s, Soul (much Northern) was his main game. The ones that have remained include a lot of boots & 70’s re-issues, but there are still a few nice originals. I enjoy soul very much, but I’m no expert on soul pressings, knowing there are a lot of boots and not having the Manship book, so please feel free to ask any questions regarding matrix numbers etc. I am used to handling US garage and psych 45’s from the 60’s though, so I do have a “feel for it”. Please be aware that most of the records listed have been badly-ish kept and show either “real” wear or at least cosmetic issues from bad storage – they do play well overall however, so please listen to the sound-files and judge for yourselves. I’ve listed all the remaining 45’s from Des, so no more coming later on.

Grading: All records are graded visually under halogen (very strong) light. All records listed should play well regardless visual condition, but please check the sound files as there might be something I have missed or something that disturbs you more than me. Grades used are: M- (my highest grade - perfect or near perfect) / EX+ (just a tad below M-) / EX (light superficial wear) / VG+ (medium amount of superficial wear, as well as the odd light scratch, but plays well) / VG (can have quite a lot of superficial wear and lighter scratches, but should still play well) / VG- (a lot of wear and scratches - if listed it either plays well or it's a rare collectors piece regardless condition). Grading is strict and made on the basis that it would be the kind of record I'd like to receive when buying (from a collectors point of view) rather than RC or Goldmine standards.
Soundfiles are taken from the actual record for sale - sound is better in real life, in 99% of the cases. I use a Rega P3 with Audio Technica arm and a Goldring 2200 needle. It is much more fragile/receptive than a Technics.
Shipping: All records are sent as registered/signed for mail. The are sent well packed in new cardboard fold-around mailers. Same price regardless how many you buy. 12 USD / 7.50 GBP. The actual prise (what I pay) for Europe is 8.50 Euros, Rest of the world is 11 Euros. Records are sent from Italy or Sweden, depending on where I am when payment is receive.
Payment: PayPal or bank transfer.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever.
