Description
Another obscure salsa gem from the heralded New York underground scene of the late 1970's and early 1980's, this time from Galo Guevara Y Su Orquesta La Mitad Del Mundo on the private Mitad Del Mundo record label. Galo Guevara, of Ecuador, recorded this album in New York with a who's who list of heavy hitters on the scene, including Joe "Professor" Torres on piano, Jose Mangual Jr. and Johnny Kenton on bongo, Nando Pintor on congas, Bomberito Zarzuela on trumpet, and a great coro consisting of Ramon Rodriguez, Rafael De Jesus, and Johnny Kenton.
This album is a real treat from start to finish, with great salsa tracks from one of NY's finest eras in straight ahead play your ass off salsa! A tough one to find, for real collectors ... Don't miss it!!
