Description

Thank you for viewing my auctions. Most of the albums you will be viewing are from my 50+ year old collection and are original issues. Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. You will be bidding for original issue, quality albums. Sometime I will list rare re-issues and the will be stated as (re) in the listing. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get somewhat conservative in my approach.

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or needle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+ or Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not over power the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Is just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I do not list record lower the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.

I ship worldwide and will accept Paypal, Cashier's check or personal check and will ship on day of settlement.

Due to the value of my collection, I will help save you shipping fees. I have ordered special album boxes for shipping. Albums will have clear covers with new inserts. I also inspect them under strong lighting and play them prior to listing. Thank you for your interest. I hope the information is of value to you. Please view my feedback as I have not been listing since the summer of 2006. Good luck bidding!

From my personal collection, you are bidding on a mega rare 1956 first pressing of the Teen Queens on the Crown label CLP-5022 in High Fidelity. This is the black label with silver print and is valued at $250+ NM in the Goldmine book and worth every penny. The Teen Queens in reality, were sisters Betty and Rosie Collins whose brother Aaron, was a member of the Jacks, later to become the Cadets. When Eddie my love was recorded in January of 1956, Betty was 16 and Rosie 14. The song became a national hit. The album cover is in excellent condition. There are no seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, scuffs or tears, front or back. Only a small overlap where is price sticker was removed prevents the cover from a NM- grading. Great liner notes in back. The very thick record is also in excellent condition and the listening experience is just out of sight. Inspected under the 100 watt light, there were no scratches, grooves or scuffs, only a few surface and or line marks. Crown was famous for producing records with little bumps for what ever reason, but had no impact on the quality of the music produced. The labels are clean showing only some light needle marks from minimal use. As I said, the listening experience was out of sight, no sticks, skips, noisy pops or hisses and few light pops between passages or songs. The songs include; Side 1, Eddie My Love, Red Top, All My Love Belongs To You, Billy Boy, Zig Zag, Until The Day I Die. Side 2, Love Sweet Love, Just Goofed, Rock Everybody, Babay Mine, So All Alone, Teen Age Idol. This is the very first of what was to be "The Girl Groups" and one of the rarest and most difficult to find in this condition. It's a beauty and based on Goldmine's guidelines, the album is graded VG+++, the listening experience NM- and the record VG+++. There is no reserve.
