ELMORE JAMES DUST MY BROOM ORIG. ELMO 78 TRUMPET 146

   An original 78 RPM pressing of Elmore James' 1951 debut release "Dust My Broom"/"Catfish Blues" (Trumpet 146), credited on the label to "Elmo" James.  The a-side was recorded at the end of a Sonny Boy Williamson session Elmore played on when the red light shy King Of The Slide Guitar wasn't aware the mic was on and the tape was rollin'.  With no second song from Elmore being available for the b-side, Trumpet's Lillian McMurray slapped "Catfish Blues" by Bobo "Slim" Thomas on the flip, credited it to "Elmo" as well, and blues history was made . . .
   Using the VJM System for 78's, this grades as G+ (or good, to utilize vinyl grading terminology) with labels that are very good plus due to some scratching, a bit of spindle wear, and a handful of small tears.
   To protect your investment, this 78 - as with all records purchased at The Great Escape Online - will be placed in a new plastic outer sleeve prior to packing and shipping.
