Formed in 1970, Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood's intentions with Electric Light Orchestra were 'to pick up where "I Am The Walrus" left off'. And they did, their ambitious yet irresistible fusion of Beatlesque Pop, classical arrangements, and futuristic iconography brought the band huge commercial success in the 1970s and 80s.

The band's sixth album A New World Record from 1976 was their long awaited breakthrough in the UK. It made the top 10 in the charts and became multi-Platinum in both the US and UK.

Almost every track on the album was a hit, from the Golden US single "Telephone Line", to the contagious "Livin' Thing" and from "Do Ya" to "Rockaria". Their Pop songs were amazingly catchy and as a matter of fact, they still are!

Their most ambitious album to date, they decided to hire a 30-piece orchestra and choir to fill out their sound, and the investment paid off.

After a long hiatus, ELO'S first album of all-new songs in nearly 15 years will be released November 13th. Though the harmonies that helped make the band one of the biggest selling acts of the '70s aren't as abundantly layered here, "When I Was A Boy" is vintage ELO, with Lynne's signature chord progressions, string flourishes and a wistful but infectious melody. The last Electric Light Orchestra album was 2001's Zoom, which featured some of George Harrison's final recordings. The group has essentially been Lynne's solo project for most of its lifespan, and now, under the name Jeff Lynne's ELO. Lynne is among the most storied names in music history having created the hit group ELO, and serving as a founding member of the Grammy Award winning supergroup The Traveling Wilburys. He has produced and collaborated with The Beatles, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty and Joe Walsh. At the time of ELO’s formation, Lynne had said the goal was to create modern rock and pop songs. A goal that remains true some 30 years later with the creation of new material.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jeff Lynne, whose music has touched fans deeply across three generations now, has found himself in recent years at the peak of his powers as a songwriter, musician and producer. The new album features a buoyant title song which opens the ten-track record including the wistful "Help Yourself" to the celebratory "Down Came The Rain" to the churning rocker "One More Time" to the sweet closer, "Songbird".

As does its predecessor, 2015's Alone In The Universe, From Out Of Nowhere shows Lynne finding new facets to his signature sound, at once drawing on his globally loved legacy and forging new paths in both sounds and emotions. Once again, he plays nearly every note of the music on guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes, as well as singing all of the lead and layered harmony vocals.
