Description
Denise and Company 45
Boy What'll You Do Then b/w Chaos
Wee Label out of Oakland California
Here is undoubtedly one of the Rarest Psychedelic Garage records of all time.
This San Francisco Bay Area group with singer and harmonica player Denise Kaufman featured Chip Wright on lead guitar, Mike Friedman on bass, and the new label owner Lonnie Hewitt on Drums.
The “boy” sung about in the song’s title was a guy named Jann Wenner, who later became the founder of Rolling Stone Magazine.
There were only about 100 copies of this record pressed, but only a small handful of copies are known to exist because nearly all of the copies were stolen from Lonnie Hewitt at the time of this release nearly 50 years ago.
None of the few known copies in existence other than our previously sold ones were in such great condition at this!
This is the last copy.
The matrix numbers are 1)(then some machine stamp symbol)108 on Chaos side. 1-19-66 107 WE on Boy What'll You Do Then side
All photos and matrix number are of the item offered here
Record is in beautiful VG++/Mint Minus condition, with just a few superficial scuffs. There is a light lip edge warp which doesn't affect play. You can see it in the attached youtube video made from this record.
