Description

Recorded at Trident Studios in London between the 8th - 15th January 1970. Produced by Toni Visconti and on the Mercury label MF 1135 (MONO).Bowie had recently re-recorded an old Deram track "London bye Ta Ta" intended as a follow up to "Space Oddity", however the same sessions also spawned a new composition "The  Prettiest Star". Apparently David wrote this song for Mary Angela Barnett, reputedly playing it down the telephone as part of his proposal to her - later marrying her on 19th March 1970. He also chose this as his next single to the displeasure of his then manager Kenneth Pitt who favoured "London bye Ta Ta".The track featured Marc Bolan on guitar and the sessions all went well until June, Bolans wife remarked that Mark was too good to be playing on Davids record. This record is once again from my own collection and is in OUTSTANDING condition. The vinyl is in MINT condition. Labels and sleeve unmarked and clean as you will see from photographs.A rare opportunity to purchase an item of this quality.Due to the condition of this item i do not accept returns but i can honestly say that you will not be disappointed with your purchase.More exceptional Bowie items will be listed shortly.
