Description

the mega rare one with the Tonny Visconti miss-press!

Considered by many to be the Holy Grail of David Bowie rare records (mine was the original 'Station to Station colour proofs - I will be listing the Japanese copies), it probably is not the rarest Bowie record but it is arguably the most sought after and it is the one that when you have it in hand you know you are a top-tier Bowie fan (no apologies), you feel kinda of special and have that warm funny feeling in your stomach!... I have seen these come and go at ridiculous prices including at regular intervals the counterfeit copies sold as originals! This is a full blown original, no doubting!!!

I will be listing a significant Bowie album collection with pretty much everything covered in the 70’s catalogue, dress cover - Station proofs etc. etc. Please contact me if you have an item of interest from this period, I can list around requests. I will be willing to end the auction if a sensible offer is received.

Pre-sale viewing is welcome. The LP looks and feels better in hand than the pictures portray. It is 41 years old and there is some inevitable age related wear and tear. FRONT COVER: The matt texture exhibits I nice touch feel and the colours have aged well, storage wear is feint. There are a couple of light creases although these blend into the cover quite well. The glue flap is in good condition. REAR COVER: There is slight feinting from age related storage. Texture and colours have aged well. SPLINE: There is age related wear and tear to the spline and is not in the best condition. INNER SLEEVE: The inner sleeve is non-original although the protective type. VINYL: I stress I no longer own a turntable and cannot guarantee playback. I can guarantee you an honest visual appraisal. From memory there is a slight jump during “The Supermen”, I am not sure if this can be corrected/cleaned out, I know people who have done it with a needle but I hadn't the courage :-). The vinyl looks clean and has a nice shine to it. At 12” face level there are slight scuffs visible and spindle witness. At 6” under light and manipulating viewing angles some scratching/scuffs can be seen.
