Description

This book published by Genesis Publications needs no introductions. It is number 1390 of a collector edition of 1650. I purchased it from new and it is one of several Bowie signed books that I have bought over a number of years. My wife and I have been downsizing our home and decided to part with one of our books which we thought would make someone a great Christmas present. The reserve is under five hundred pounds, as I am not greedy and feel this would give everyone the opportunity to own a beautiful limited edition signed David Bowie book.

It is made from heavyweight paper filled with images taken over a three year period that looks at the writing, recording, performing and travelling of Bowie told by his childhood friend Geoff MacCormack. I have included some pictures from the book in my listing to give people an idea as to what lies within its pages from Ziggy Stardust, album recordings, adventures on boats, tour buses, the Trans-Siberian Express and pictures from The Man Who Fell To Earth.

The binding is quarter bound in red leather with padded printed boards embossed with a silk badge, gold tooling and page edging also in gold. I have gone through every page of this book and one page has the gold leaf secured on two pages. It will open, but I did not wish to damage the book. The white paper wrapped around it has only been opened in order to check the contents and photograph some of the images within.

The book comes in a unique presentation case which folds completely flat around the book and fastens and secures with magnetics. The publication has remained in its numbered box and been stored in a cabinet. I have decided that someone else can enjoy it and I am sure it will go to a good home.
