DIZZY GILLESPIE The Champ (Savoy MG 12047) U.S. Original MINT-
Original MONO release (1951) on Savoy Records USA. Featuring Dizzy`s version of "Caravan" and two tracks with John Coltrane, amongst many other classic recordings. With Dizzy Gillespie (tr), Milt Jackson (vibes), Bill Graham (bs), Stuff Smith (violin), Percy Heath (b), John Coltrane (ts) and Wynton Kelly (p).
Description: MINT(-) cover in absolutely perfect condition; razor-sharp corners and no scuffs or wear whatsoever. Small ink stamp at bottom right hand corner of rear cover. Otherwise looks like the day it came from the store!
VG++ record with only two superficial scratches; one of which (between tracks) pops lightly a few times. Otherwise a random little pop or crackle every once in a while throughout the record and that`s it! In short, this is a phenomenal copy of "The Champ" for its 55 years of age! Record is still housed in its original rice-paper-type sleeve in very good condition. Please see photos.
