Another from my personal collection! Original early UK pressing very near mint audio quality through out. Barely a spider mark around the labels, just a handful barely seen on one side only . Purchased new in 1977 and I don't recall ever playing the vinyl in fact the vinyl visually looks barely ever played at all in my personal opinion. Very near mint playing surface. I have play tested the vinyl prior to this listing and the audio is amazing clear and vibrant through out no nasty clicks or pops and certainly no distortion. Anyone that knows these mid seventies RCA pressings are notorious for bad factory imperfections   The original 1st issue un laminated cover is also in exceptional condition rarely seen like this grade at least excellent to excellent plus and features the original stickered track listings at the rear (only 1st issues) This is complete with the original lyric insert.

Low is the eleventh studio album by British musician David Bowie, co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti.

Widely regarded as one of Bowie's most influential releases, Low was the first of the "Berlin Trilogy", a series of collaborations with Brian Eno (though the album was mainly recorded in France and only mixed in West Berlin).

The experimental, avant-garde style would be further explored on Heroes and Lodger. The album's working title was New Music Night and Day.

The album was co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, with contributions from Brian Eno. As a recovering cocaine addict, Bowie's songwriting on Low tended to deal with difficult issues: Visconti contended that the title was partly a reference to Bowie's "low" moods during the album's writing and recording.

Side one of the album contained short, direct song-fragments; side two comprised longer, mostly instrumental tracks. On these tracks help was lent by ex-Roxy Music keyboardist and conceptualist Brian Eno, who brought along his EMS 'suitcase' AKS synthesiser (Bowie was later given this particular synthesiser as a birthday present after a friend obtained it in an auction).

Often incorrectly given credit as Low's producer, Eno was responsible for a good deal of the direction and composition of the second side of the album and wrote the theme and instrumentation for "Warszawa" while Bowie was in Paris attending court hearings against his former manager.

Eno in turn was helped by producer Tony Visconti's four-year-old son who sat next to Eno playing A, B, C in a constant loop at the studio piano. This phrase became the "Warszawa" theme.

On Bowie's return Eno played him the work which impressed Bowie who then composed the vaguely Eastern European-sounding lyrics.

Although the music was influenced by German bands such as Kraftwerk and Neu!,
Low has been acclaimed for its originality and is considered ahead of its time, not least for its cavernous treated drum sound created by producer Visconti using an Eventide Harmonizer.

On the release of Low, Visconti received phone calls from other producers asking how he had made this unique sound, but would not give up the information, instead asking each producer how they thought it had been done.

The Vinyl

On initial inspection the vinyl looks awesome and I can barely see a blemish at all! Please note! this is the original heavy and thicker type only found on the earliest of these pressings! (much more sought after for the best audio quality! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Only in strong light could possibly be seen would be minor sleeve removal marks/scuffs (no) needle or audio sounding scratches at all  that I can see. Importantly no marks that would cause any loud annoying constant clicks or pops.

The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl track for track prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system! The audio is crystal clear and vibrant all of the way through with (no) loud clicks or pops. Any back ground noise or isolated static tick was extremely minimal, the fact that this vinyl has obviously barely ever been played and the fact that the vinyl was pressed from the earliest stamers makes all the difference for stunning quadio quality.  AUDIO IS AWESOME ON ALL FREQUENCIES!    PLEASE LOOK AT MY COMPLETED LISTINGS OF RECORDS THAT I HAVE SOLD OF THIS CALABER AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I NORMALLY GET IT RIGHT! Listen to the complete album yourself recorded in digital, in the audio layer above and decide for yourself.   I would grade the audio at least Excellent Plus to Very Near Mint in my opinion! (Minor static is expected from this mid to late 70s vinyl, there are many very quiet places but this is exceptional quality in my personal opinion)

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd isolated only static/crackle/tick perhaps heard during some quiet parts (not consistent throughout the audio)! Please remember that this is a genuine 33 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 33 year old system! It is noted that debrit was seen on the playing surface after play.

A constant clean is highly recommended after each play. This vinyl has been stored in a case for over 30 years and a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle or ticks. A constant clean after each play will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality.

 The Labels

These are the original 1st issue orange RCA Victor labels no wear that I find it hard to just barely see a handful of very feint spidering on one side only visually it is obvious that this has barely ever been played in my opinion.

THE MATRIX

Side A. "PL 12030-A-1" (Crossed out/Corrected matrix) "STERLING" Stamped on side 1. (Master pressers signature)

Side B. "PL 12030-B-2" (Crossed out/corrected matrix)

The Record Sleeve

This is the original RCA plain white sleeve light creasing/fading only with no splits or tears.

The Cover

This is the original 1st issue un laminated Garrod print Ltd printed cover. With the original track listings sticker at the rear. (only 1st issues) This cover is in exceptional condition and extremely hard to find like this. Any storage wear is minimal and you have to look hard to notice any in the form of very minor rubbing and minor creases at the rear and at the spine barely noticed at all in my opinion. I would grade this cover at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion.

The Lyric inner.

This is the original lyric inner. Light creases with age only and no tears.
