Description
This is one of a limited edition of 100 pieces, hand-stencilled/sprayed by Banksy. As far as I know, 25 were kept for give-aways, 75 released to the promo company to send out to DJs (which is how I got it).
There are fakes of this item around. I asked Pest Control (the organisation that authenticates Banksy artwork) if they could provide a certificate of authentication for it, but they will not do record sleeves. I therefore cannot prove that this item is genuine, only having circumstantial evidence that I am likely to have an original.
This record was sent to me as a promo (by Timebomb I think, based in Bristol) prior to its release in 1999, at which time I was receiving many promos each week, particularly of this style of music as I regularly contributed my playlist to various music magazines, and a fortnightly 'top 30' to the record and promo companies. I do not have a listing that includes this record, as I didn't think it was very good, so never played it out - which is why it is in such good condition. I can supply copies of playlists / charts from that time to show that I was playing this sort of music, so would be likely to have received this single. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the reaction sheet that came with it, as I disposed of hundreds of them a few years back.

I have included photos of the BLOWP 001 matrix number in the run-out groove, as I think many of the fakes have the wrong number here.
In an attempt to avoid any possible scams, I am selling this to be collected in person in mid-Wales with either cash or direct bank transfer before leaving with the artwork, and strictly under Covid-secure conditions as I am highly vulnerable to any chest infections. The buyer is welcome to bring an 'expert' with them to check its authenticity.
I might consider meeting elsewhere within a maximum of about 50 miles from home (e.g. Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Brecon), but this would be on a cash only basis as I do not have mobile means to check that a successful bank transfer has been made - and under the current Covid situation I am reluctant to meet in an enclosed space unless spacious and airy e.g. Hereford Courtyard Arts Centre, Brecon Brycheiniog Arts Centre, Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
