THE BEATLES - YESTERDAY & TODAY ''THIRD STATE STEREO'' PROFESSIONALLY PEELED BUTCHER COVER WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY (COA). COMES WITH THE CORRECT RECORD, TRUNK COVER SLICK, PLUS COMPANY SLEEVE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.
First State stereo issues of the Butcher cover are much rarer than their mono counterparts, and outnumber them by a ratio of roughly 10:1.
The only vinyl matrix released along with this first pressing Butcher cover was the:
Matrix / Runout (Runout side A): ST1 2553 - A1 I AM Matrix / Runout (Runout side B): ST2 2553 - A5 I AM
All the other ones were released after the recall, therefore, this is the only authentic vinyl released with the first pressing of this album, or THE BUTCHER COVER album. Always look at the runout to check its authenticity.
First State stereo issues of the Butcher cover are much rarer than their mono counterparts, and outnumber them by a ratio of roughly 10:1.
''It's interesting to note that '3rd State Butcher Covers are just about as hard to find as 1st State Butcher Covers! The reason is that most collectors didn't peel great condition paste covers. Far more often they did peel examples in less condition. So the result is that great condition peeled examples are actually very very rare indeed having great condition on the front slick AND the rest of the cover too! So the value of a 3rd state peeled Butcher cover is directly connected to how great the peeling process was.''
Labels have a black rainbow color-band without "subsidiary" rim text.
This version was pressed by Capitol's plant in Scranton, PA (identified by stamped letters I over AM inside a triangle). (see pics)

-As Beatles albums had continued to sell well since their arrival in America in early 1964, Capitol had high hopes for sales of Yesterday and Today. In anticipation of this, the company printed some 750,000 covers at their three pressing plants – Los Angeles, California, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Jacksonville, Illinois.
-At the time of the release of Yesterday and Today, record companies in America were still pressing records in both stereo and mono, as stereo records were playable only on stereo equipment and most buyers only had mono record players. Because of this, approximately 80%-90% of the finished covers were in mono, with the remainder in stereo.
