Beatles Wallichs Music City KFWB/98 "Talk and Sing!" Promo 7-Inch Still Sealed!
NOTE: The 4th and 5th photos shown are images from an opened copy for reference and of course are not of the factory sealed disc featured in this listing.
Extremely Rare Promo 7-Inch still factory sealed (Capitol, RB-2367/8). An incredibly rare Capitol Records promotional 45 with its combination picture sleeve/envelope from 1964, and it's still sealed! Less than a dozen sealed copies are known to exist and here it is in NM 9+ condition!
Includes COA from Perry Cox, dated August 4, 2021. On the COA Perry notes: "When held to outside light one can reasonably see the record inside in its generic company provided sleeve. Interesting to note that Capitol Records only issued about 5 total promotional 45s for The Beatles during the entire decade of the 1960s (and a few EPs as well). This disc was the only promo issued for the first 3 years from 1964."
According to the sleeve's cover, "The Beatles Talk and Sing! Wallichs Music City KFWB/98 Souvenir Record, A Limited Pressing Celebrating the Opening of Wallichs Topanga Plaza Canoga Park June 5-13, 1964."
With an A-side featuring audio from the Fab Four and a B-side featuring "You Can't Do That" in mono, the record was made in Los Angeles at Capitol's pressing plant (a plant that did not make very many of the Beatles' records).
This record was only available through radio station KFWB (a major radio station that played rock 'n' roll from the late 1950s until the mid-1960s) and Wallichs' store chain. Holding an event at Wallichs made sense, as the store's owner was a co-founder of Capitol Records.
The sealed outer sleeve is in near mint condition, with nice vibrant red text and the custom logo design showing no signs of fading after nearly 60 years of storage. There is a tiny short tear mark on the top right edge. There is a very light small bend mark on the upper left, as seen in the photo. I have only run across a few of these in my nearly 50 years of buying and selling Beatles discs and this is only the second sealed copy, and the nicest condition copy of them all.
Guaranteed 100% original. Will be packed extremely well for shipping.
