Description

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
This exceptional 'final upgrade' example of the Beatles eighth studio album is a MONO UK 1st pressing on the much sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.
The vinyl is housed within the fully-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve which features a very desirable WIDE SPINE. Unlike many examples of this sleeve variant, the wide spine is found in fantastic condition without any creasing.
The album comes complete with the original red and white wavy psychedelic inner sleeve designed by The Fool art collective and the cut-out insert sheet designed by Peter Blake.
Serial number: PMC 7027
Matrix number: XEX 637 - 1 / XEX 638 - 1
Mother & stamper codes: 2 RMP / 4 RDT
Vinyl Weight: 170g

Condition:
Vinyl: EXCELLENT +
Labels: EXCELLENT +
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only very light spindle marks can be seen to both sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT
The record displays superb, 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces. One feel-able mark can be seen on the outer rim of side 1. Otherwise only a couple of very light paper scuffs can be seen in bright daylight to either side. Underneath the glare of a halogen desk lamp a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
The audio is fantastic. Take a listen for yourself:

Side 1:

Side 2:

As can be heard from the recordings, this copy has clearly been played cautiously on good quality equipment. If not for several (~10) pops at the start of the title track I would confidently grade as Mint- as all other tracks play through with clarity and distinction. She's leaving home is extremely quiet with just a single pop 42 seconds into the song. Side 2 is faultless
The UK mono first press is widely regarded as the premier pressing of Sgt. Pepper and after listening to this record you will understand why.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The iconic sleeve looks superb! The wide spine really makes the sleeve stand out. All four sides retain the original lustre and bright colours. The top and bottom edges are without wear. The opening edge is without wear. The corners are strong with just mild softening. A really first-rate example.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. The colours are bright and there is minimal discolouration to the white section. The cut-out insert is in perfect condition. Also included in the sale is an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve that houses the record.

The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
