The Beatles Please Please me ~ stereo Gold and label Parlophone 1963

Wrong Dick James credits

Correct sleeve with Angus mcBean credit to the far right

Large stereo Ernest.j.day flip back sleeve

catalogue number PCS 3042

One of the most desirable of all Beatles LPs.

The double scarcity of this pressing is that in the Spring of 1963 STEREO albums were only bought by the adult enthusiast as most copies were sold in MONO and Parlophone were about to change the gold layout on there labels which they had from 1950’s to the more familiar yellow and black design.

This meant that very few copies of this stereo album with the Old style black and gold labels were made.

They say about 800 copies but I think it’s a little bit more, probably two to three thousand which still isn’t many.

ZMT tax code on the side 2 label.

Matrix numbers:

Side one YEX 94-1

side two YEX 95-1

Stampers: 1/G 1/R

Complete with Emitex polylined inner sleeve.

SLEEVE : VERY GOOD condition

no splits,no tears,no handwriting, wording on the spine is readable and visible with No damage to the seams.

A little bit discolouring on the rear cover with the bottom flip back on the right as a bit of wear at the end of the tab…looks like it came unstuck at some point and then as been glued back down. A laminate crease on the front right opening.

VINYL VISUALLY both sides VERY GOOD condition

A few light marks and very small scratches nothing deep and a long unsightly non feel able scuff mark on side two about 9 inches long goes nearly all across via the runout groove PIC included …vinyl still as a deep sheen and is shiny.

AUDIO : Excellent condition

No jumps,No skips or deterioration in sound quality, No clicking.

A Good listen.

Both LABELS : Excellent condition
