THE BEATLES - 'ABBEY ROAD'
This wonderful sounding early UK pressing dates from late 1969 and is on the dark green Apple Records label: PCS 7088
'Her Majesty' is omitted from the side 2 label
Matrix numbers: YEX 749-2 & YEX 750-1
Stamper codes: 6/MAG & 5/RPL
Vinyl weight: 133g
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the Apple logo aligned beneath the rear track-listing & original plain white 'Patents No...' inner-sleeve.

A bright & clean pair with nothing more than a handful of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Pristine deep-gloss, factory-fresh playing surfaces which are 'as new' & totally unmarked in strong daylight. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines (which I really struggled to find), together with a sparkling rainbow shines. Both sides of this outstanding copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
This wonderful sounding pressing is without doubt the finest source for this album, easily bettering the new remaster for sound quality. This copy has received just a few careful play on high-end equipment and plays cleanly & clearly with no trace of any groove/playwear distortion anywhere. My single careful play-check at volume detected a touch of light background during some of the quieter passages on side 2, which is present on all copies but certainly no other such audible distraction. You will not be disappointed with the sound on this early copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
This fine example retains a clean high-gloss laminate all round with minimal handling/storagewear, but no significant or major faults.
The front panel retains an excellent shine and bear two faint wrinkles towards the opening edge & one in the upper right corner and a smaller only just above the lower edge. There is a small bruise to the lower left corner but all others are sharp & undamaged, as are both opening edges.
The rear panel is just as clean & glossy with only a few light spine wrinkles but no 'thumbnails' or ringwear.
There are a few small sections of wear to the laminate on the spine but all wording is unworn & both seams are smooth & unstressed.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & uncreased with slight age-toning but no writing, tears or seam splits.
We play-grade every record we sell on an EMT 950 transcription turntable fitted with a 'TSD 15' cartridge.
Our grading is strict & conservative grading in strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
