Description

Rahul Dev Burman - BHOOT BUNGLA - ANGEL 3AEX 5054

R.D. Burman's first LP to the 1965 horror movie BHOOT BUNGLA

First LP score by R.D. Burman to the horror comedy 'Bhoot Bungla' (=Ghost House") directed by Mehmood that features himself and Burman in a great skeleton dance scene that is also featured on this LP. Impossible to find in any condition, this is the best copy out of 4 or 5 I came across over many years. Condition is VG, glossy vinyl with quite many superficial marks & scuffs, no deep marks. Plays nice, VG to VG+ with a low level of crackle and a pop here & there. In original Emitex sleeve.

From the Bombay Connection archives! Since the late 90s I've been collecting original Angel & Odeon pressings, sourcing OG presses from India, Holland, Kenya, Canada, USA, UK, Suriname, Trinidad, Guyana, Marocco & beyond. Hard to beat original 60s & early 70s Dum Dum pressings as collectors items, but time to let go! Coming months I'll be auctioning LPs, 10"s, EPs and some SPs from my collection. Many are in exceptional good condition, and many rare and extremely rare titles. Here on auction are the best Angel & Odeon copies I managed to find during nearly 30 years of collecting. Vinyl grading is visual, for some items I provide also audio grading. Please note the sound source for these records were the actual 35MM optical soundtracks which were directly transfered from a projector to a lathe and thus have a limited frequency range. Production techniques were not always up to the mark, so please expect some surface and side noises in these pressings, especially after 1970 when stamper production was moved from EMI London to Dum Dum (Odeon label & onwards). Nonetheless, the 1st (grooved label or 'double ring') pressings are the best audio carriers available, surpassing later presses by far as these were often recorded from earlier pressings. Grooved label Odeon represses of Angels were typically made with the original Angel matrixes and have simular audio quality (as do the early 70's thick 180 grams flat label odeons). Seam splits in flipback LPs and 10" covers have not been repaired, but can be repaired on request. Many of the auctioned 7" EPs are stock copies and will benefit from a deep clean.
