Description

Very rare 3° Symphony from Beethoven, by the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra under the direction of Wilhelm Furtwangler. Limited and numbered edition (n° 365/1000) from french Urania. Cover is VG++/EX, with still the violet ruban, and the record is VG++/EX same, with few light surface noise (was same at the origin). This is the story :
For the history: Urania originally planned to release this record without license. This first version showed the name of Furtwangler. Furtwangler refused that the record be released and stopped Urania from selling them (actually, extremely few specimens were sold). Later, Furtwangler's wife still refused that the record be released, but Furtwangler accepted after removing both his name and the Orchestra on the sleeve and labels. The record was released in very limited amount (1000 copies would be a maximum) and copies were numbered.
This edition was released in very limited amounts in 1955.This specimen is #365.
