BEATLES "Let It Be" BOX SET 1970 Canada SOAL 6351 Complete with Get Back book

Great copy of the 1970 Let It Be box set, complete with all original packaging and artwork. This is the Canadian pressing (SOAL-6351), as this box set was never produced in the USA. Includes high gloss 164 page book "Get Back". All pieces are in various condition ranging from VG and up. I will attempt to describe them all individually and have provided pictures as reference for any of the flaws I point out.

Outer cardboard sleeve:
Has retained a nice glossy finish all over. This version has the "Litho in Canada" and Modern Album Cover logos. Also reads: "Distributed in Canada by Capitol Records (Canada) Ltd."There is some whitening around the edges as seen in the pictures. Light scuffing is found, a lot of it is the kind where you can only see it if you hold it at a certain angle under a light source. Nothing is overwhelming or outrageous, it just looks like it has been handled with some frequency. This is the VG portion of the set.

Tray:
Very nice condition for having held such a heavy book and an LP with a somewhat flimsy build for so long.

Book:
Excellent, completely shiny, full gloss. Every surface of this book reflects a ton of light right back at you, and you can nearly see your reflection in the pages. Very minor natural wear to edges of cover. Extremely tight binding, it has never been opened past the halfway point at any section. Absolutely NO loose pages. The binding edge of the front cover shows some bubbling, possibly having to do with the glue used to keep it together, or simply some of the lamination separating. This part of the collection has rarely been handled. This isn't something that anyone sat down and read for any serious amount of time. It has stayed in its position in the tray, really only removed for photographing and examining for anything out of the ordinary. The small wear on the edges is only from being removed and being put back in its tight place in the tray. An easy EX.

Album Cover:
In great shape with only some light wear to the edges. Once again, very shiny and glossy. This hasn't been handled very much. The minor edge wear is once again, from being removed and put back in the tray. VG+

Vinyl:
This was not a "listening" copy of Let It Be, therefore there are no real spindle marks or wear to the labels. The surface only shows light sleeve marks that will not affect playback in any way. This is the green Apple version. The Modern Album Covers logo and Litho in Canada appear on the spine. Matrix information is as follows:

- Side 1: JS-17,500-7 (all but the -7 is scratched out) SOAL-6351 A

- Side 2: JS-17,501-7 (all but the -7 is scratched out) SOAL-6351 B #
5 Bell Sound sf sf Phil + Ronnie

I don't know the reason for the scratched out numbers, but it was definitely done at the factory at the time of pressing, possibly to separate it from the standard non box-set version. Vinyl is in EX+ condition.

I've covered all of the flaws that I've found, but nothing really stands out individually that would bring the grade down dramatically. Mostly smaller flaws, and almost all exclusively on the edges of the items contained. A fantastic copy to own if you're not in the market to drop $800 on the UK version, but would like a major upgrade to your common standard "Let It Be" LP.
