"A HARD DAY’S NIGHT"

(1964 PARLOPHONE RECORDS LP – UK STEREO FIRST PRESSING!)

ON OFFER HERE IS POSSIBLY THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE STEREO FIRST PRESSING OF THE 1964 ALBUM “A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” BY THE BEATLES WITH BLACK & YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABELS.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A NICER EXAMPLE OF THIS ICONIC ALBUM, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHICH PRESSING IT IS!! THIS RARE ALBUM COMES FROM A LIVERPOOL COLLECTOR WHO TOOK AMAZING CARE WITH ALL HIS RECORDS - KEEP AN EYE ON MY LISTINGS FOR MORE RARE BEATLES LPs IN FAB CONDITION!

THE GARROD & LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE IS IN “LIKE NEW” CONDITION AND APPEARS TO HAVE COME OUT OF BRIAN EPSTEIN’S NEMS SHOP YESTERDAY!!

THE VINYL IS IN NEAR PRISTINE CONDITION AND PLAYS WITH ABSOLUTE SILENCE BETWEEN TRACKS AND DURING THE RUN-INS ON BOTH SIDES!! I CANNOT IMAGINE A BETTER SOUNDING COPY!!

THIS IS A FINAL UPGRADE FOR ANY SERIOUS COLLECTOR. I EXPECT FRANTIC BIDDING!!

UNBELIEVABLY THIS SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THIS ICONIC ALBUM IS STILL HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL NEMS POLY BAG THAT IT WAS SOLD IN!! THIS VERY RARE ALBUM WAS PURCHASED IN ONE OF THE TWO NEMS SHOP IN LIVERPOOL - THE HOME OF THE BEATLES - WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT IN 1964!! THE NEMS SHOPS WERE OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE FAMILY OF BRIAN EPSTEIN!!

THE CATALOGUE NUMBER IS PARLOPHONE PCS 3058

THE MATRIX NUMBERS ARE: YEX 126-1 / YEX 127-1

THE STAMPERS ARE: GP 2 / H 1

THE BAG

THE AMAZING NEMS POLY BAG IS IN GENUINE VERY GOOD+ CONDITION. IT SHOWS WEAR AND CREASING BUT IT IS NOT SPLIT AND HAS DONE A GREAT JOB PROTECTING THE SLEEVE.

THE SLEEVE

THE FRONT LAMINATED GARROD & LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE, WITH A MID-SIZE “STEREO” IN THE TOP RIGHT-HAND CORNER, IS IN GENUINELY MINT- CONDITION. THE LAMINATED FRONT IS BEAUTIFUL WITH NO FLAWS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AS NICE - EVER!! THE OPENING HAS NOT FEATHERED AT ALL. THE BACK IS PURE WHITE AND THERE ARE NO INSCRIPTIONS. THERE IS JUST THE VERY SLIGHTEST HINT OF SOME RING WEAR IN THE LAMINATION. THE THREE REAR FLIP-BACK ARE PERFECT AND SPOTLESS!! THE SPINE IS 100% LEGIBLE AND IS IN PERFECT CONDITION - IT WILL LOOK FANTASTIC ON YOUR RACK!!

THE INNER SLEEVE

THE TISSUE-LINED "USE EMITEX" INNER SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH SOME SLIGHT WEAR, DISCOLOURATION AND CREASING.

THE VINYL

VISUALLY THE HEAVY, BLACK VINYL IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. I AM WONDERING HOW MANY TIMES HAS THIS FANTASTIC RECORD ACTUALLY BEEN PLAYED. THERE ARE JUST A HANDFUL OF TINY WISPY HAIRLINE MARKS. I HAVE JUST FINISHED LISTENING TO THIS CLASSIC ALBUM ON MY PROJECT RPM4 AND I CAN CONFIRM THAT THE SOUND QUALITY IS COMPLETELY MINT THROUGHOUT!! THERE ARE PROBLEMS AT ALL. IT IS COMPLETELY SILENT BETWEEN TRACKS AND DURING THE RUN-INS. AURAL PERFECTION!

THE LABELS

THE ICONIC BLACK & YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABELS ARE BOTH IN MINT- CONDITION. THE SIDE ONE LABEL HAS AN EMBOSSED "MT" TAX CODE. THERE ARE ONLY ONE OR TWO TINY  SPINDLE MARKS PER LABEL. THERE IS NO SPINDLE WEAR. AROUND THE RIMS EACH LABEL HAS THE TEXT “THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD. ....” IN UPPER CASE. EACH LABEL ALSO CARRIES THE TEXT “RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964” & “SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT ... ”.

MINT (M) THE RECORD ITSELF IS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION WITH NO SURFACE MARKS OR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND ANY EXTRA ITEMS SUCH AS THE LYRIC SHEET, BOOKLET OR POSTER ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. RECORDS ADVERTISED AS SEALED OR UNPLAYED SHOULD BE MINT.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.

VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.

GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.

THE USE OF PLUS (+) OR MINUS (-) ALLOWS FOR ITEMS THAT FALL BETWEEN THE ABOVE GRADES.
