Description

BEATLES 64 VEE JAY VJ OLDIES 7" 45 SET PLUS RECORD CASE

This is a set of all four BEATLES 7" 45rpm singles issued in 1964 by the Vee Jay subsidiary label, "Oldies". Also includes Oldies factory die-cut sleeves.

The details of each are listed below. The last number listed by each is the ID number of the particular variation of each, as listed in Bruce Spizer's "Beatles Records On Vee Jay" book.

1. OL-149 Do You Want To Know A Secret/Thank You Girl [OL 149.03]

2. OL-150 Please Please Me/From Me To You [OL 150.02]

3. OL-151 Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You [OL 151.02]

4. OL-152 Twist And Shout/There's A Place [OL 152.04]

All sleeves and records are in at least (VG+) condition and beautiful labels.

Also included in this lot is a very rare orange/brown cardboard "Oldies 45" record carrying case.

We are not sure exactly when this 45 tote was issued, or whether it was issued commercially or not.

No doubt it was issued during the 60s, possibly as a promotional item. Although no Beatles identification is printed on the box, it is a nice accompaniment to the set of foor singles.

Box has some damage, mostly at edges (see photos) and some minor stains on back, but is still very displayable. The hinges and clasp are in excellent working condition.

Important Notes About Our Record Grading:

It is our number one priority. We grade accurately, honestly and conservatively. We want our customers to be pleased when they receive our records. We are just as discerning when selling records as we are when buying. Buy with confidence as all our records are FULLY GUARANTEED (although we rarely get "returns"). We believe that a (VG) condition record should mean "Very Good", as it was originally designed to, not "Very Bad"! All cover and vinyl problems (e.g. seam splits, writing, warps, etc.) are noted in addition to the grade. We believe that by listing the "defects" and grading honestly, the collector will be able to visualize the condition of the record before bidding. We hope this eliminates any "surprises" for the buyer. We visually grade all items carefully under very bright light. Whether the record is worth $50 or $50,000; whether it was issued in the 1950s or the 1990s, they all receive equal scrutiny.

Mint. – Perfect, flawless. We rarely, if ever, use this grade.

M- or NRMT (Mint Minus or Near Mint) – Usually our highest grade. Records from the 1950s & 60s in this condition are truly rare.

VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus) – Beautiful collectible condition. Many of our VG++ items would grade M- elsewhere.

VG+ (Very Good Plus) - Great condition. Well cared for.

VG (Very Good) – Still good condition, but more wear than VG+.

VG- (Very Good Minus) - Generally not collectible condition, unless it's a super rare record.

G (Good) – Lots of wear, but still playable.

WBR (Wrecked But Rare) – Otherwise known as a "Starter Copy". Not cracked, but a starter copy.
