Description

Produced specially for radio DJ’s in 1969; this is a nine-track promo 7” to promote the recent album releases on both Atlantic and its subsidiary label, Atco.

Each track contains samples of the tracks on the album(s) by that artist with spoken intro’s from a male or female DJ depending on the artist.

On side A you have Albert King, followed by Led Zeppelin, Arthur Conley, Sam & Dave, Clarence Carter and a bit on the latest batch of “specials and retrospectives”. On the B-side is Brian Auger, Dr John, Aretha Franklin, Iron Butterfly and Wilson Pickett.

I can’t find any reference to this release on the internet nor on the usual 45 catalogue sites. The labels are totally blank, other than the addition of the “A” you can see. In the dead wax is PRO 1-A-1 or 1-B-1, so fairly certain what the catalogue number should be.

The record itself is visually in at least very good condition, but does play very well and more like excellent. I doubt you’ll find another of these promos as the shelf-life would have been very limited and once the albums were out it, this promo would most likely have ended up in the bin………..

Any additional information on this release would be most welcome!

All of these 45’s come from the amazing collection of an original Sixties DJ. He started his career in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production through the late 60’s and into the 70’s. Theses records are genuine UK originals unless stated and come wherever possible in crisp, original company sleeves. Expect the highest quality!

Postage and packing will be £1.30 for one 45’s in the UK; £2.20 for European destinations and £2.80 for the USA and the Rest of The World. For UK customers, two 45’s is still £1.30; European destinations will be £2.50 for 2x45’s and USA and the Rest of the World customers will pay £3.40 for 2x45’s.

Items or overall orders over £36 will be subject to the necessary postal insurance payable by the winning bidder. This can sometimes be expensive for overseas destinations due to Royal Mail’s pricing structure. If you are unwilling to pay for insurance on expensive orders, please do not bid.

Payment by Paypal is preferred for all destination, though traditional payments for UK customers are also welcome.

The records are presented to you in plastic sleeves for protection and are sandwiched between two, thick pieces of cardboard for safe transport.  I use recycled cardboard to keep packing costs as low as possible.
