You (should) know the artists, the issues of this collection and about it’s tremendous artistic and monetary value – which is – let’s say two dimensions above usual single-item auctions. So good luck for your bid(s) to rise to this unique occasion.

Have a look at my other auctions including a spectacular Opera collection (vocal pendant to this auction) and an auction with hundred Deutsche Grammophon records with var. red stereo issues.

On 01-Aug-10 at 16:35:27 BST, seller added the following information:

Due a customer's request I noticed I forgot a word on the condition of the vinyl and the cover sleeves: e

As advanced collector it has always been one of my priorities to by my records in the best possible condition. After listening to this large lot for years I'd like to emphasize that most records and their cover sleeves offered in this auction are in near mint quality (nm+ / nm / nm-). Few stereo issues appear vg+ grading the vinyl and sleeves.

Most jacket appears in excellent condition with in perfect condition apart from minimal edge/ring wear. Esp. some Deccas got slight ring wear at front before I bought them (I stored many in protective sleeves), but still in very desirable condition after all.

Most vinyl surfaces are near mint with  full glossy surface, some with with spindle marks, many simply perfect without any surface defaults -more mint than nm, but some have show some lonely scuff(s) without much sound affection.

A minority of the lot, especially the monophonic records, are average vg / vg+ on vinyl and sleeves - so the most monos do have some ticks and some ground noise when playing. The sleeves as well mostly has more visible edge and ring wear, some sleeves with small defects like beginning spilt-up, but some of these issues are nearly up to 58 years old with signs of former ownership. But I think there is nothing to worry about when we are talking about the condition of this lot; many superb copys are just in a stunning, very outstanding condition and it is not sure that you might get better ones anywhere.

In the Artist's list I forgot to mention that this auction also contains recordings of Carl Schuricht and legendary Michael Rabin.
