---------------

CONDITION

VINYL

I WOULD DESCRIBE THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT

A SIDE

SHOWS VERY FEW SIGNS OF WEAR AND THERE ARE NO MARKS OR DEEP SCRATCHES OR EVEN VISIBLE HAIRLINE MARKS

IF THIS WERE NOT SUCH A RARE ALBUM I WOULD DESCRIBE IT AS MINT BUT I AM BEING VERY CAUTIOUS

THERE IS VERY LITTLE SPINDLE WEAR BUT THE ALBUM HAS BEEN OBVIOUSLY PLAYED

B SIDE

THE SAME AS THE A SIDE BUT WITH NO VISIBLE SPINDLE WEAR

OVERALL

THE VINYL IS IN GENERALLY EXCELLENT CONDITION AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF IT'S AGE APART FROM THE MARKS FROM THE SPINDLE WHEN THE RECORD WAS PLAYED (2 OR 3 TIMES I HAVE BEEN ADVISED)

ANY GLARE ON THE PICTURES IS DUE TO THE CAMERA FLASH AND NOT ACTUALLY PRESENT (ESPECIALLY ON LABELS)

SLEEVE

I WOULD GRADE THE SLEEVE AS BEING IN EXCELLENT CONDTION

FRONT

NO RING WEAR

VERY MINOR CREASING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SLEEVE

DAMAGE TO THE LAMINATE IN THREE PLACES BUT THE LAMINATE HAS REMAINED INTACT

FOUR CORNERS HAVE MINIMAL WEAR

BACK

AGAIN NO RING WEAR

AGAIN SOME MINOR CREASING - MORE ALONG THE SPINE EDGE THAN ELSEWHERE

THE BACK SLEEVE DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN LAMINATED COMPLETELY AND ON THE TOP, BOTTOM AND OPENING SIDE THE CARD UNDERNEATH HAS BECOME A LITTLE GRUBBY

OVERALL

OVERALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION CONSIDERING IT'S AGE.

NO WRITING OR TEARS.

SOME MINOR SPINE WEAR.

THE COLOUR SEEMS TO HAVE REMAINED INTACT AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF SUN BLEACHING

THERE ARE SIGNS OF NICOTINE STAINING TO THE EDGES OF THE BACK COVER

---------------------

I am in the process of listing a huge record collection from the sixties and seventies. My father-in-law needs some cash so instead of letting his collection gather dust he has asked me to sell it for him. He does not have an Ebay account or the time to list but he does have a fantastic collection.

He has been an eclectic collector of music for over 40 years and bought records each week as they came out. For this reason I am confident that they are all first pressings. The 30 or so records I am listing over the next week are a selection chosen at random from his full collection. Often, he would buy a record simply for the cover so a large number of the records in the collection are unplayed. I can guarantee that these records have had one careful owner who has treated the discs with utmost respect and only ever played them on top quality stereo equipment

I have been buying and selling records on Ebay for a while now but this type of music is not my field of expertise by any means (The Smiths if you ask). For that reason I have tried to research as much as possible and have asked the advice of people with more expertise than myself (many thanks by the way). I also took this selection to my local record dealer and he was amazed at the variety and the quality of both the vinyl and the sleeves considering they are all nearly 40 years old. I was told that the problem with records of this age on smaller labels is that they were generally pressed on light weight vinyl and are therefore more prone to damage.

I will grade the records visually according to The Record Collectors grading system and will err on the side of caution. I do not want to write War and Peace but I will try and include any information I consider relevant.

If you require a play grading then please let me know as this will not be too much of a problem but I do not want to risk such rare vinyl on my own turntable. My stepfather has a top of the range turntable which he is willing to loan me if the need arrives.

If any further pictures or any information at all is required then please use the ask the seller a question link on the page and I will do my best to give you a swift and honest response.

As I stated earlier this is just a small fraction of the collection as a whole. I will be getting further deliverys when my mother and sister in law visit the wife, children and I.  If there are any particular record(s) that you are looking for then please drop me a line and I will find out whether he has it/them in the collection and they can be brought to Manchester from London in the next batch.
