We grade by bright artificial light according to the descriptions below. Unfortunately we do not have sufficient time to play grade. Records are hand cleaned before being listed and shipped.

Grading of Records

NM:

Almost as new – no marks or scratches – record plays without any problems.

Ex+:

The occasional extremely light mark that should not make any difference to the sound. Almost NM but not quite.

Ex:

There are one or two light marks that might give the occasional pop or tick but there are no serious marks or scratches and the record should play without any distraction or serious problems.

Ex-:

There are light marks that will give occasional background noise but on the whole the record should play without serious problem.

VG:

There are marks that will have some effect on the reproduction. There will be some background noise but this will not be serious enough to cause a major distraction to the enjoyment of the listener.

Grading of Sleeves/ Boxes

NM:

Virtually as new with no splits or wear to the edges. Inserts are present where appropriate.

Ex:

Very little wear although some use is noticeable. Odd marks or inscriptions and small areas of sticker damage.

VG:

Intact but with more significant wear, some creasing, marking, foxing, yellowing or lamination lift.

Anything less is discarded unless it is ultra-rare.

Postal Prices

The following are the postal prices for Mapowder Records from 1st April, 2013.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

At the beginning of April the Royal Mail introduced significant changes to UK postal charges which meant that we have had to revise most of our own charges. In most cases there has been a small increase but those customers outside Europe will be pleased to learn that shipping charges to Asia, the Americas and Australasia have come down very slightly.

Owing to anomalies in the new system, UK customers will probably find it slightly cheaper to have bulk purchases posted in packets of THREE records (£3.50) as anything between one and two kilos (4 – 7 records) now costs £7.35 to post.

Our prices are inclusive of all charges and have been calculated using average weight measurement for the number of LPs. Please note that these are our prices and they are not negotiable.  Surface Mail is available only on specific request and is not our recommended method of shipping.
