I have had a couple people contact me to say the bar code on the price sticker was not used until 1972.I do not know when the price sticker was applied to album. If anyone wants to question if the shrink wrap is original all I know is what was told to me that this is original shrink wrap. What I do know is this is a original butcher cover in tremendous shape shrink wrap aside you will not find a nicer album that is 100% authentic.
On Nov-24-12 at 05:27:32 PST, seller added the following information:JUST WANTED TO SHARE SOME INFO SENT TO ME ABOUT THE BAR CODE STICKER.I was an 18 year old Guitar Teacher for a Mr. Ware's record store in Wonderland Shopping Center, San Antonio, Tx when the Butcher Y.A.T. was first released; I put the Butcher and Pasteover replacements into the record racks ...and bought every Butcher Cover the store had, about 20, which of course disappered over the years that their price was in the casual gifting range. ~~~~~ The 'Best Products' bar code label on your copy was obviously added right next to the 'Best Products' pre-bar-code inventory sticker as the pre-bar-code sticker inventory system became obsolete to bar code systems. That pre-bar-code sticker could have been placed on the clear wrapper anytime back to the time the album came into 'Best Products' and / or retailer's possession, theoretically as far back as the album existed. There are any number of legitimate reasons why this album could still be in a retail store inventory or warehouse, new or used, after bar codes came into existence.
On Nov-24-12 at 07:37:00 PST, seller added the following information:The data on the bar code inventory sticker is the identical same data that's on the pre-bar-code inventory sticker, ...showing quite well that the retailer's (or distributor's) bar code system and sticker simply superceded the non-bar-code sticker's manual inventory obsolescence
