THINK TWICE: holy grail BEATLES "butcher" cover like this is in high demand, will only continue to increase in value. Here's a NICE example of the '66 high-end collectible!
......................................................................................................
The professionally peeled butcher cover is all around: solid, stiff, colorful and uncommonly CLEAN. Once the BUTCHER is peeled (successfully) by one of the several professional services available, a Butcher cover like this can easily value at $2000+ and will only rise in value in collector circles around the global market.
NOTE:
When in doubt, our advice is : DON'T BUTCHER YOUR BUTCHER !
Cost is around $500 to have a professional PEEL your Butcher cover...with that in mind, it is far better to spend the money & have a professional do the involved task rather than trying to remove the trunk cover yourself. Many Butcher covers have been ruined when novice collectors attempted this highly difficult task ...The disc is "EX" (excellent) and plays just fine - which is insignificant -- as we all know it's all about the BUTCHER cover, here in solid condition; most likely if you've have any interest in this investment collectible from 53 years ago, best to think twice, this could be your copy!
Important! Full condition details below song titles!
ORIGINAL 1966 printed inner sleeve included.
A copy of the Capitol Records BUTCHER COVER recall to retail record store is included

By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today, the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John's infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were "bigger than Jesus", which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incineration of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public disapproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher's smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately - creating an instant collector's item - and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the 'leftovers' of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side "Yesterday/Act Naturally" (released on the UK version of Help!), the single/B-side "We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper", and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: "I'm Only Sleeping", "Doctor Robert", and "And Your Bird Can Sing" (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver).

CONDITION: The cover: rated: the front "Butcher" cover is magnificent - crystal-clear with only a thin impression line ( not a razor line ) from Capitol logo at far left over to spine above; Lennon's head, it's rather minor and insignificant. Can't figure out the cause as it is not a crease or crinkle, nor a cut. May have just been a wrinkle line in the paste-on cover slick; hard to tell. It is light enough that our photos don't capture it, so you get the idea. Downgraded a bit to VG++ from "EX" (excellent) because of the mysterious impression line and rub wear on spine (but no seams splits.) The back cover is VG++ clean but with off white age , slight discoloration, again, it's only light, nothing heavy - check the photo. Overall as the photos show, the front panel remains in simply "GREAT" visual condition with no flaws, perhaps a little light wear to outer edges of seams from trunk cover removal procedure, but seams are not split and still remain pretty white - all things considered (see photos - appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here.) Most peeled butcher copies will show at least some or more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover, the impression line isn't too noticeable, everything else on front is real clean. The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean, a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. Just the wear on spine and that impression line at far upper left cover corner keep the overall front cover from being M-. Again, much better than the "usual" original Butcher cover.
Overall, a nice collectible addition to any valuable music library. Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections. No split seams, no tears or rips, no writing, no delete marks, overall in reasonable acceptable investment condition - ask any further pertinent questions please.
The vinyl: VG++ representing a respectable platter, few minor hair scuffs is all and plays exceptional throughout -- even though it's all about the butcher cover - as you know, and the original '66 vinyl is readily available for future up-grade purposes if desired. ... both 1966 ((mono)) RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean.
