Excellent scarce vintage jazz LP featuring THE LLOYD McNEILL QUARTET on the ASHA label, from 1969. Title is “ASHA Vol. 1.” Catalog number is ASHA 1. Stereo pressing. Produced in Washington, D.C. Label is white/black with white logo and black print.
All tunes on the album are Lloyd McNeill compositions. Guaranteed to be an original pressing, not a reissue. I found an excellent review of Lloyd McNeill and his music on the “hip records” web site.
Personnel are as follows: LLOYD McNEILL – piccolo and flute; GENE RUSH – piano; STEVE NOVOSEL – bass; and ERIC GRAVATT – percussion. Quartet is joined by PAUL HAWKINS on latin percussion.
Jacket is near mint with no writing, splits, or other discernible flaws. Vinyl is excellent with a few slight scuffs, no serious problems, looks and plays great.
Side A contains following songs:
- ASHA (8:45)
- As a Matter of Fact (4:53)
- Two-Thirds Pleasure (5:53)
- Dig Where Dat’s At! (3:27)
