Original 1973 lp on Polydor Circle Of Sound (2310-285) Moody ‘The Gentle Rain’. Here is one of the ultimate u.k. lp’s that is so sought after by beatheads and funk/jazz collectors alike.This is an original and is in lovely condition. So so hard to find,so many people have searched for this record over the years and so many people have failed to turn it up.It really is rare.You all know the killer track ‘Lonely Jelly’ but there are loads more great tracks on here too.Use Me,Gentle Rain,You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,Family Affair,Across The Universe,A Fool On The Hill,While My Guitar Gently Weeps,I Feel The Earth Move,Stoney End,Gonna Make You An Offer You Can’t Refuse. The production on this lp is incredible and the sound is amazing on every track.Quality funky jazz throughout,so many beats all over the place.Arranged and Conducted by Nick Ingman.Alan Hawkshaw on keys,Toni Campo/Dave Richmond on bass,Clive Hicks on guitar,Brian Bennett on drums,Kenny Wheeler on flugel,Nick Ingman on moog,flute and clarinet,Denis Lopez on percussion.With a lineup like that it’s little wonder that the sound is so good. This is a rare chance to get hold of this notorious u.k. gem.The last copy I had sold for £280.I doubt if I’ll get another one.Both the vinyl and the sleeve are in lovely condition.
