original 1980 reggae dub & vocal album produced by Dennis Bovell: Matumbi DUB PLANET ORBIT 1 (Extinguish Records)
MATUMBI DUB PLANET ORBIT 1 Mixed by Dennis Bovell
Another rare release from the secret dub laboratory of UK sound wizard Matumbi featuring the wise Blackbeard aka Dennis Bovell. He commands the controls at Studio 80 and mixes some wicked versions while also including two vocal tracks, one featuring Dj Ranking Ruben. Trombonist Vin Gordon makes a guest appearance on the excellent "Hearts Of Art". This crucial collection was only released by Extinguish Records. Dennis Bovell help kick-start reggae in England, eventually shining his brilliance in composition and arrangements for Linton Kwesi Johnson's Dub Band. Here the master of Matumbi lets the knobs fly as he twists up a vital selection of top tracks. Backward sections and out-of-left field musical mayhem with much more creativity than the average dub. Published 1980. Arranged & produced by Matumbi.

Vinyl is in mint condition on an original & rare Extinguish Records pressing. No skips, no warp, no scratch. Cover is also in VG+ shape with no seam splits, one corner bend, and very minor disc imprints (see photos). Looks like it was made in the UK or France.
