Description
The Black Album. Planned for release as a follow up "Sign of The Times" The 1987 Promotional release had no printed title artist or credits. It came in a plain black sleeve with Only the catalogue number 25677 printed on the Vinyl itself and a track listing on the centre label.
This album was withdrawn a week before it's release date and replaced with "Lovesexy"which was more commercially viable for Warner Bros. This album has the original raw version of "Bob George - "That Skinny Motherfucker with the high voice"Prince experienced a crisis of conscience. He was convinced the album was evil and represented an ominous portent over the erotic and violent opinions expressed in the lyrics. Some aficionados say he just had a bad trip and panicked.
Vinyl Cat No.925 677-1There were only 50 pressings of this album. All for promotional purposes. Nobody knows exactly how many actually made it to Warner Executives before it was withdrawn and the remaining vinyls destroyed.
This copy was given to me by a Warner Bros exec in 1987 .It is unique, not played and irreplaceable. This is probably the rarest Prince Album on the planet with full provenance All sensible offers considered. For personal collection only or I will deliver within a reasonable distance
