Description

Album / Record Title: EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS IS NOWHEREArtist(s): NEIL YOUNG with CRAZY HORSE – Danny Whitten, Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, Robin Lane, Bobby NotkoffProduced By: Neil Young & David Briggs
Original UK pressing on the tri-color Reprise label. Record and laminated flipback sleeve are in excellent(+) condition.
Rarity: VERY RARE IN THIS VARIANT – This album was first released in the UK May 1969 during a label transition period for Reprise UK, which spanned the period 1968-70, from this tri-colour (cream, green, gold) ‘Riverboat’ design to the subsequent tan ‘Riverboat’ label. These earliest UK pressings and issue also have the RSLP catalogue prefix; they were pressed from the first matrix set through the first mothers and first stampers onto some of the heaviest and best quality vinyl ever used in the manufacture of records. There were relatively few sold in this full first press, first issue format before they were transferred to the tan label. All of these UK first pressing, first issue examples were distributed in laminated ‘flip-back’ covers by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. To meet resurgent demand resulting from his increasing popularity the album was re-released in the UK in 1971 as a second pressing reissue prefixed with the ‘K’ series catalogue prefix (installed after Kinney Corporation took over Warner Bros. –Seven Arts Records who in turn owned reprise records) – there are many more of these in circulation, still a quality pressing but not as good and not very rare.
THERE IS A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GENUINE UK FIRST VINYL PRESSINGS, LIKE THIS ONE, AND ALL SUBSEQUENT ISSUES IN THAT THEY  DELIVER VASTLY SUPERIOR SOUND IN TERMS OF CLARITY, CLEAN SOUND AND POWER OUTPUT. HIGH QUALITY EXAMPLES LIKE THIS ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN THESE DAYS AND FAST DIMINISHING SO A CLAIM OF NOTABLE RARITY IS WELL BASED.
