WELL FOLKS HERE IT IS, PROBABLY THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER ALBUM ON THE PLANET.

I CANNOT BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM TO BE ABLE TO OFFER WHAT MAY WELL BE THE BEST COPY OF THIS RARE ALBUM ON THE PLANET.

IT IS WITHOUT DOUBT IN THE MOST MAGNIFICENT CONDITION POSSIBLE, AND WOULD BECOME THE MOST PRIZED POSSESSION OF ANY COLLECTION IN THE WORLD

THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME WAS ISSUED ONLY IN THE MOST MINUTE QUANTITIES IN STEREO, AND TO FIND A PRISTINE BLACK AND GOLD FIRST PRESS IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE. (UNTIL TODAY)

AS YOU MAY KNOW THIS RAREST OF ALBUMS WAS ISSUED ONLY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS ON THIS GOLD AND BLACK LABEL, WHEREAFTER IT WAS SWITCHED TO THE MORE COMMON YELLOW AND BLACK, AND FOR THOSE THAT FOLLOW MY AUCTIONS YOU MAY RECALL I LISTED THE ULTRA RARE 3RD PRESS WITH THE EXTRA 33 AND A THIRD ON THE LABEL BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.

THE FIRST AND SECOND PRESSES WERE BOTH RELEASED ON THIS GOLD AND BLACK LABEL BECAUSE ON THE VERY FIRST ISSUE THERE WAS AN ERROR ON THE CREDITS, WHERE FOUR TRACKS WERE MISTAKENLY ACCREDITED TO THE DISC JAMES MUSIC CO, WHEREAS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CREDITED TO NORTHERN SONGS, THUS THE LP WAS REPRESSED WITH THIS NEW INFORMATION

WHAT WE HAVE HERE HOWEVER IS THE GENUINE VERY FIRST PRESS WITH THE LABEL ERRORS

CONSIDER THIS. THERE CAN ONLY HAVE BEEN 300 COPIES OF THIS ALBUM MADE WITH THE FIRST MOTHERS AND STAMPERS AS THIS ONE HAS, AND HOW MANY OF THOSE ARE IN THE CONDITION THAT THIS ALBUM IS, AND WHAT ABOUT THE SLEEVE. HOW MANY OF THOSE PROPER FIRST ISSUE SLEEVES WITH THE CORRECT PLACEMENT OF 'ANGUS MCBEAN' CAN BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN A MINT MINUS STATE.

ALL THAT REMAINS FOR ME TO SAY IS READ THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION BELOW, AND TAKE A GOOD LISTEN TO THE SOUNDBITES, AND THEN DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO BID ON THE MOST SPECIAL COPY OF THIS ALBUM THAT YOU ARE LIKELY TO EVER COME ACROSS

THE RECORDS

THE LABELS

THE ORIGINAL BLACK AND GOLD LABELS ARE IN MAGNIFICENT CONDITION . THE JET BLACK BASE COLOUR IS RICH AND VIBRANT AND FULLY STRETCHES INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLE.I HAVE TAKEN SOME MACRO SHOTS OF THE SPINDLE HOLE SHOWING THE TAX CODE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE FACT THAT THERE ARE NO SPIDER LINES AROUND THE HOLE WHATSOEVER.

THE GOLD LOGO AND LETTERING IS PRISTINE, VERY EASILY RUBBED THIS PAIR OF LABELS ARE JUST SUBLIME. THERE IS JUST THE TINIEST BIT OF LIGHT WEAR TO THE RIM WORDING ON SIDE TWO JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE MADE IN GT BRITAIN STATEMENT AT THE VERY FOOT

IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN HANDLED WITH THE UTMOST CARE AND CANNOT HAVE BEEN ON A TURNTABLE MORE THAN A COUPLE OF TIMES TO BE IN THIS INCREDIBLE CONDITION

THE VINYL

A STUNNING VINYL THAT HAS RETAINED EVERY BIT OF THE ORIGINAL SHEEN AND LUSTRE, AND LOOKS TOTALLY AS NEW. IN DAYLIGHT IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS AND EVEN ANGLED INTO STRONG SUNLIGHT AND PLACED UNDER INTENSE ILLUMINATION REVEALS NOTHING MORE THAN A FEW WISPY HAIRLINES AND A COUPLE OF THE SMALLEST, LIGHTEST AND NON SOUNDING SUPERFICIAL HANDLING LINES

PLAYING THE RECORD

I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A FANTASTIC COLLECTIBLE VINYL, THAT YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. I HAVE THEREFORE INVESTED IN THE SOFTWARE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO JUST THAT.

I HAVE RECORDED ALL OF THE ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH AS I DO NOW WITH ALL MY LISTINGS, AS I AM CONVINCED THAT BIDDERS WOULD WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO HEAR IN FULL WHAT THEY ARE CONSIDERING BIDDING ON. A SERVICE I AM DELIGHTED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER MY CUSTOMERS, AND LETS FACE IT WITH THIS ONE IT'S VITAL!!

THIS STEREO FIRST PRESS PLAYS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENTLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOTH SIDES. I AM JUST BLOWN AWAY BY THE SUPERB SOUND GENERATED BY THIS DISC

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST PRISTINE BEATLES STEREO BLACK AND GOLD PLEASE PLEASE ME YOU ARE EVER LIKELY TO COME ACROSS.

I GUARANTEE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DISTORTION TO THE MAGNIFICENT STEREO REPRODUCTION AT ANY POINT, NOT EVEN ON THE VULNERABLE 'ANNA' NOTHING IT'S JUST INCREDIBLE

THE LINKING GROOVES ARE DEATHLY SILENT. THERE IS NO BACKGROUND CRACKLING WHATSOEVER, ANYWHERE ON ANY TRACK OR ANY OF THE LINKING GROOVES. I HAVE EVEN RECORDED THE RUN OUT GROOVES RIGHT TO THE POINT AT WHICH THE GROOVE STOPS GOING FORWARD,THUS THE THUNK AFTER A FEW SECONDS AT THE END OF 'PLEASE PLEASE ME, AND TWIST AND SHOUT' AND EVEN THESE ARE JUST WHISPER QUIET

THIS ALBUM HAS JUST NOT BEEN PLAYED MORE THAN A COUPLE OF TIMES EVER!!!!

THERE IS NO VINYL NOISE AND NO CLICKS AT ALL ANYWHERE.

THERE IS ONE TINY TINY DUST POP IN THE LINKING GROOVE BETWEEN A TASTE OF HONEY AND THERE'S A PLACE, AND OTHER THAN THAT A FEW RANDOM BARELY AUDIBLE SPECKS OF STATIC

AS FOR GRADING THIS INCREDIBLE VINYL, WELL MY FIRST THOUGHT IS THAT THIS IS A 1963 PRESS THAT IS NEARLY 50 YEARS OLD, AND TO BE THIS QUIET ALL THE WAY THROUGH IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE, AND EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A COUPLE OF SPECKS OF STATIC AND THAT LITTLE DUST POPS, I CANNOT HELP BUT GRADE THIS MINT, OR MAYBE AT THE VERY HARSHEST MINT MINUS

BUT WHATEVER I SAY IT IS YOU THE PROSPECTIVE BIDDER THAT HAS TO MAKE THE FINAL DECISION, SO PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, SIT BACK AND LISTEN TO THE RAREST ALBUM ON THE PLANET AND YOU!! BE THE JUDGE OF WHAT MINT SOUNDS LIKE

THE SLEEVE

FIRSTLY A WORD ABOUT IDENTIFYING THE VERY EARLY SLEEVES THAT HAD TO GO WITH THE EARLY ISSUE VINYLS.

THE FRONT COVER PICTURE WAS A PHOTO TAKEN BY ANGUS MCBEAN WHO'S NAME APPEARS AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE SLEEVE. BUT!!! ONLY ON THE VERY FIRST ISSUE SLEEVES DOES THE 'P' FROM PHOTO APPEAR DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE LETTER 'S' FROM THE WORD SONGS (SEE PICTURE) ALL LATER ISSUES THIS ANGUS MCBEAN TEXT IS MOVED FURTHER LEFT DIRECTLY UNDER THE LETTER 'G' FROM THE WORD SONGS. THATS HOW TO TELL IF A SLEEVE HAS BEEN SWAPPED FOR A BETTER ONE

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS SLEEVE?   IT IS TRULY MAGNIFICENT, AND THE BEST EXAMPLE OF THIS SLEEVE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS

STARTING WITH THE FRONT SURFACE. THE LAMINATE GLEAMS LIKE A POLISHED MIRROR AND THERE IS NOT ONE CREASE OR CREASE LINE ON IT ANYWHERE. NOT EVEN THOSE SMALL LAMINATE LINES THAT YOU GET NEAR THE SPINE.THERE IS JUST ONE TINY TINY SLIVER OF LAMINATE LIFT CLOSE TO THE SPINE ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN, AND BARELY VISIBLE UNLESS YOU ANGLE THE SLEEVE INTO STRONG SUNLIGHT

THREE OF THE FOUR CORNERS ARE ABSOLUTELY SQUARE AND MINT WHILST THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER TIP HAS THE BAREST SLIVER OF RUBBING TO IT

IT IS VERY CLEAR THE SLEEVE HAS BEEN KEPT BOLT UPRIGHT AND INSIDE A PLASTIC OUTER TO PROTECT IT FROM ANY HARM MAN MADE OR OTHERWISE

THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES ARE 100% FREE FROM ANY SHELF WEAR OR LAMINATE FLAKE, AND THIS IS FURTHER EVIDENCE THAT THIS SLEEVE HAS BEEN KEPT PROTECTED FROM NEW BECAUSE THESE EDGES ARE NORMALLY CHIPPED

THE SPINE IS MINT!!!  TOTALLY UNSQUASHED. ALL OF THE LAMINATE PERFECTLY INTACT, AND EVERY LETTER OF THE TYPEFACE PRISTINE! EVEN THE TOP AND BOTTOM TIPS ARE STILL 100% PROTECTED BY THE LAMINATE AND UNRUBBED

THE OPENING EDGE IS STILL RAZOR SHARP AND INCREDIBLY DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANY THUMB NAIL NICKS ALONG THE EDGES, SHOWING YET AGAIN HOW METICULOUSLY THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN HANDLED AND CARED FOR

TURNING THE SLEEVE OVER REVEALS THE MOST PRISTINE EXAMPLE OF THIS SLEEVE THAT YOU ARE EVER LIKELY TO COME ACROSS. IT IS STILL TOTALLY BRILLIANT WHITE WITH NOT ONE SPECK OF DIRT OR GRUBBINESS ANYWHERE. NO WRITING, NO SOILING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO MAR THIS INCREDIBLE SURFACE, APART FROM A COUPLE OF NEAR INVISIBLE AND MINUSCULE LIGHT BROWN SPECKS JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE TRACK LISTING AND A COUPLE MORE UNDERNEATH THE FIRST PANEL OF TEXT

EVERY LETTER OF THE TYPEFACE IS PERFECT. AND THE FLIPBACKS WHICH ARE ALWAYS DAMAGED SOMEWHERE ARE ON THIS COPY IN MINT!!! CONDITION

THIS IS THE E.J DAY AND CO SLEEVE AS DENOTED ON THE BOTTOM FLIPBACK

THE ORIGINAL EMITEX RICE PAPER LINED INNER SLEEVE IS IN SUPERB ORIGINAL CONDITION. TOTALLY WHITE AS NEW AND UNSPLIT WITH JUST THE BAREST CREASE LINE ON THE BOTTOM ONE

THE ORIGINAL POLY LINED EMITEX INNER SLEEVE IS IN SUPERB CONDITION. TOTALLY WHITE AND UNSOILED, AND IMPORTANTLY UNSPLIT!!1

THE TOP EDGE IS UNDAMAGED AS IS THE DIE CUT HOLE, AND THERE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF LIGHT WRINKLES TO THE BOTTOM CORNERS

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS SLEEVE GRADES MINT MINUS!!!!

SO THERE IT IS. ONE OF THE RAREST ALBUMS EVER MADE AND IN WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS VAULT CONDITION. THE QUESTION IS WILL IT END UP IN YOUR COLLECTION???

IGNORE THE POSTAL CHARGES AS WE WILL COME TO A JOINT DECISION ON THE BEST AND MOST SECURE WAY FOR THIS LP TO REACH THE WINNER

MY BEST WISHES AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT

IF YOU NEED MORE PICTURES..JUST ASK.
