What is Popsike.com ? [top]
Popsike.com is a database of auction results from Ebay, specializing in vinyl records.
How is the database being updated ? [top]
About every 2 months (see 'news' on front page) the database is being updated with collected auctions from Ebay.
Which items are included ? [top]
auctions of rare vinyl records sold for around 25 USD upwards, or the equivalent in other currencies, from 2004 until now.
Please note that the Popsike.com database does not claim to be exhaustive -
it is not a complete archive of ALL vinyl records auctioned at ebay in these years.
Which items are NOT included ? [top]
- lots and collections
- Unsold auctions
- Any other music format (CD, cassette, reel-to-reel, DVD etc.)
What do the condition categories mean ? [top]

MINT
|
The record itself is in brand
new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster
are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should
be Mint.

EXCELLENT
|
The record shows some signs of having
been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover
and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY
GOOD
|
The record has obviously been played many
times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable
surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on
the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

|
GOOD
|
The record has been played so much that
the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion
and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing
of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR
|
The record is still just playable but
has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise;
it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
|
|
POOR
|
The record will not play properly due
to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly
damaged or partly missing.

|
BAD
|
The record is unplayable or might even
be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. |

Can I use the search box of my browser (at the top right) for searching (searchplugin) ? [top]
Yes. Go to searchplugins.net and click on 'I' for installing the searchplugin.
It works for Internet Explorer 7 / 8 and Firefox 2 / 3.
Why should I register ? [top]
- As a member, you can perform more queries than an unregistered user - but the number of daily queries is still limited and depends on server load.
- Only members are allowed to rate auctions.
Do I have to pay using Popsike.com ? [top]
If you would like to have unlimited access (no daily query limit), you can pay a fee for a full membership ($ 18 for 6 months).
How can I pay for a full membership ? [top]
You will be prompted to pay after you have reached your daily limit of queries. As long as you are not being prompted, you don't need to pay.
You can pay with your PayPal account or with your Credit Card.
I am having problems with registering/login. What can I do ? [top]
