Witch Lazy Bones ORIGINAL ZAMBIA Afro Fuzz Psych Funk MONSTER RARE HOLY GRAIL !!

***PLEASE NOTE I ACCEPT PAYPAL OR INTERNATIONAL BANK TRANSFERS ONLY FROM OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS FOR THIS ITEM, THANKS***

Yes, you can believe your eyes - THIS IS NOT A REISSUE - THIS IS AN ORIGINAL COPY of this absolute masterpiece of Afro Psych!!!

Anyone that is aware of underground African psych, prog, rock, funk and soul, will certainly be aware of Witch. These crazy Zambian 'Zamrock' cats put out out several excellent albums during the early-mid 70s but it's this one in particular that is considered to be their masterpiece. The only other copy known to exist is the one that was used to produce the recent reissues on Shadoks records. The only other Witch LP from this more psych period that has appeared on eBay is Introduction - also a great album but nowhere near as psych'd, fuzzed or waha-wah'd out as this monster!!

As anybody seriously interested in this record will know, hardcore collectors have even ventured to Zambia to try and track down original copies without success. My only guess as to the origins of this copy would be that someone or a family moved over to the UK in the 70s and bought this with them, not knowing what a cult item it would eventually become.

The chances of another copy of this ever coming up for sale are very slim indeed. All other existing copies (there weren't many) have disappeared or been trashed. I am selling this album, not so much because I want to, moreso because there are other records I need to buy. However, if it doesn't reach the reserve price I'm more than happy to keep it.

Due to the nature of production quality from this part of the world back in those days, it's quite hard to grade. However, it's literally impossible to find in any condition, so here we have a very nice example.

The flimsy thin cardboard SLEEVE is in 'surprisingly' great shape. There is a bit of moderate edgewear but no splits. Spine is pretty much flat and there is no lettering printed on it. There is a bit of ringwear mainly lower front, a couple of light creases and some light (sticker removal?) scuffs top right. None of these faults are heavy and there is a shop stamp on the back which says KWACHA FURNISHERS. It's as good as you're going to get for a sleeve of this nature and I would grade it EX minus/VG plus. Please take a good look at the photo's I've added.

The VINYL is in, again, surprisingly EXCELLENT condition since it was originally pressed. However, there are some pressing flaws due to the pressing plant standards in Zambia. There are a couple of wavy dips in the vinyl as well as a few dimples. However, these do not affect play and the pressing is surpisingly clear. So, apart from the pressing faults (most likely all copies are like this) the vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition and fortunately hasn't been played to death! Just a few very light bag removal lines under angled light.

Labels, as you can see in the pictures, Side A is EXCELLENT with no issues. However, Side B has a manufacturing fault (again, typical of pressings from this part of the world), almost as though the lower part of the label wasn't allowed to set properly when glued. Please take a good look at the photo, all info is full readable etc.

All in all a very nice, respectable copy of this monster for the SERIOUS collector. Any questions, please ask!

Good luck & happy bidding!

Please bid only of you intend to pay, thanks.

Please note, I always remove records from main sleeve when packing to avoid seam splits during trasportation, unless the record is still sealed. I will happilly open the seal carefully at sellers request to remove from sleeve if desired.  I use cruciform LP mailers (NOT envelopes) with multiple stiffeners for added safety. I have also started using corner protectors too :-)

Please also note that I will now only send records by Recorded, Airsure and International Signed for. I will no longer send records without a tracking number, so please do not bid if you object to the shipping costs, thanks.
