[NOTE TO MY CUSTOMERS: For the past four weeks, due to a computer breakdown, I've had to make you subsist on "re-runs" of records I've previously offered. Nothing wrong with that - people do it all the time - but for now I will run nothing but NEW stuff! Hope you appreciate 'em!]
HERE'S another great record by rhythm master CHICK WEBB AND HIS ORCHESTRA.
The "A" side celebrates the joys of "Jive" or "Mout" or "Loco Weed" or just plain Marijuana, "WHEN I GET LOW I GET HIGH." It's one of the iconic songs celebrating The Good Life.
The flip side actually is a song that got ELLA FITZGERALD into trouble at Victor Records, when she moonlighted with Benny Goodman's orchestra, "TAKE ANOTHER GUESS." Due to her contract with Decca, the Victor version had to be pulled from sale almost immediately, making it one of the Goodman rarities. This then, is the "official" Decca version.
This original 1937 "Sunburst" Decca 1123 is in sturdy E- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
