Description

This was given to me as a gift to replace a copy that I lost to a breakup, but I need the money and I think another collector could love it more than I can.

The Dead Weather's "Hang You From The Heavens," B-side "Are Friends Electric?" test pressing of TMR-001, is the first release from from Jack White's Third Man Records. It is a 7-inch/45 and it has never been played and it is in great condition. This is one of only 150 test pressings with sleeves hand painted by the band that were given to those who attended the original grand opening party at the flagship Third Man Records location in Nashville TN, where the Dead Weather played their first show in 2009. Included is the original attendee's invitation to the party and the bag with the record.

This sleeve was painted by Jack Lawrence and his name is on the inside of the sleeve. There is a unique photo strip of the band that was included with the record as well. There are no duplicates of those photos. A different one was given with each test pressing.

The record has never been played and is in perfect condition. The sleeve is also in perfect condition. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

I will ship this wrapped up like a delicate baby, so it arrives to you as well cared for and pristine as it is now.

EDIT: I realize that this item was recently listed 9/12/16 and this looks fishy. I am not the original buyer however, the full sordid story is included below if you care to read it so you can understand why I can't keep this thing.

THE FULL STORY:

My ex and I were also at attendance at the opening of third man records when we were barely 21 (I've attached a link to pictures so you can see how we were babies), and we received a hand painted record as a "party favor" for going, it was black and white with bullet holes signed by " Baby Ruthless" aka Alison Mosshart. The two of us met at a White Stripes show two years before that so sharing that record had meaning to us. When we broke up, he sold the record to be an ass***e ( because really, who is ever kind after a breakup). Now A YEAR after the fact, he decided that he couldn't live with the fact that he'd done that and tried to buy me a replacement copy, and leave it at my mother's house when I refused to take it from him.
I'm in a new relationship now, with no plans to take him back. The two of us were together 8 years, but a $3,000 gift is just too much to take from a person in this situation. So many other's could love it more. I know what it was sold for before (it's easy to google) and what our original copy was sold for so I'm simply trying to get only that amount, and this lovely but complicated gift out of my life.
