Description

Up for auction is an EXTREMELY rare piece of rock history. The Dead Weather test-pressing single " Hang You From The Heavens" b/w " Are Friends Electric?" These were limited to 150 copies, and were never sold in stores. Instead, they were gifted to attendees of the GRAND Opening Night of Third Man Records in Nashville TN. This was also the debut performance of the Dead Weather.
I am selling this for my friend Sylvie Simmons, who has been clearing out her closet of artifacts collected over a 45+ year career as a rock journalist. She attended the Opening Night of Third Man Records in Nashville on March 11, 2009, and confirms that this 45 has NEVER BEEN PLAYED.
The winner of this auction will receive everything seen in the pictures:
1. Custom hand-painted sleeve (each is unique, created by a member of the band)2. 7'' 45 test-pressing " Hang You From The Heavens" b/w " Are Friends Electric".  Jack White did the etching on these. From the Third Man website:

As a part of the inaugural festivities, attendees were invited to live the experience fully through their five senses and trade in their cell phones upon entry. In return, each guest was given a sealed blank envelope which included a hand-painted 7” test pressing of the Dead Weather’s first single “Hang You From the Heavens.” Each band member painted artwork for each of the one-of-a-kind singles, and a unique strip of photos taken by the full band in the Third Man photo booth was contained inside. All were thought to have been given out the night of the event.
