Description

Hi to all you happy ebayers!

This is it, a truly  rare and vital piece of White Stripes history, the first pressing of Lafayette Blues/Sugar Never Tasted So Good on white vinyl (with some traces of red in it). That's not all, as this is one of 40 copies that Jack personally gave to family and friends. It contains a 1944 French bank note, a picture of Lafayette and Washington shaking hands, and a quote from Marquis de Chastellux. I've held on to this for ten years and I'm well and truly touched that Jack gave me one, but baby needs a new pair of shoes. It's time to let it go.

This record, its cover, and its contents are in mint condition. I'll accept money order, cashier's check, or Paypal as payment. No returns. I'll ship anywhere in the world. For shipping costs figure approx. $5.00 US/Canada and $10.00 overseas. I'll let you know the exact amount when you win and I get your shipping address.

Hi again kids,

Ok, I've gotten some messages about this item. It seems that some unscrupulous a-hole recently made a fake of this particular rarity by buying an old French franc note off ebay and carefully dusting a white vinyl record with some red spray paint. Also some folks have pointed out that the gospel according to Ben Blackwell says that Jack wrote little personal notes on the franc note too. I never knew this and I am crushed to find out that I did not rate a very personal scribbling from Jack, but I can assure you all that this is the real thing. Jack gave it to me back in '98 and I'm probably the only person in Detroit besides Mrs. Gillis and Dave Buick who still has theirs. If you are really serious about bidding on this, send me a message and I will send some close up pics of the vinyl and inserts.  Thanks for looking. Ben, If you are reading this, tell Jack I still love him, all is forgiven, please come home!
