THE SISTERS OF MERCY - MERCYFUL RELEASE (VINYL 12" - LIMITED EDITION)

Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Bootleg-Album, erschienen 1984 (Brother Records Ltd. / Diamond Sound).

Die Platte wurde in den letzten 20 Jahren ungefähr fünf mal abgespielt.
Die Hülle bzw. das Cover der LP ist für deren Alter in einem sehr guten Zustand, d. h. sie hat keine Risse, Löche oder gröbere Abnutzungen an den Kanten.
Sie wurde über all die Jahre in einer Plastikhülle aufbewahrt und hat lediglich ein paar Verfärbungen, die man natürlich auf weißem Hintergrund auch dementsprechend sieht (ist auf den Fotos gut zu erkennen).
Am oberen Teil der Hülle hat sie einen Knick von ungefähr 10 cm Breite, d. h. an der Stelle wurde mal nicht richtig aufgepasst. Ansonsten ist sie aber knickfrei.
Auf dem Frontcover befindet sich ein Aufkleber mit der Aufschrift "Limited Edition on colored vinyl".

Jetzt zum Vinyl selbst. Dessen Farbe ist sehr interessant vor allem wenn man es gegen das Licht hält. Ich habe das Vinyl auf einem der Fotos von hinten beleuchtet um die Farben möglichst deutlich zu machen, da man das auf den anderen Fotos längst nicht so gut sieht. Ich habe die Platte extra nochmal abgespielt und sie lief bis auf einen Hänger einwandfrei durch. Das kann bei einem anderen Plattenspieler aber auch wieder anders aussehen. Was aber auch dann nicht verschwinden wird ist das Knacken und Rauschen welches über die gesamte Spieldauer der Platte präsent ist. Vielleicht muss das aber auch so sein - jedenfalls war das von Anbeginn so. Der Zustand des Vinyls ist keinesfalls neuwertig. Für deren Alter sieht sie zwar noch sehr gut aus, sie hat aber mehrere kleine Kratzer oder "Hairlines". Die beiden Labels haben ein paar Flecken, welche auf den Fotos auch zu erkennen sind. Die Labels sínd ein wenig kurios, da sie mit "Seite C" und "Seite D" beschriftet sind. Zudem ist das Label der Seite C nicht ganz mittig geklebt. Ob das alles so sein muss weiß ich nicht. Jedenfalls ist neben dem Label "Seite C" folgendes eingeritzt: "BOSS 81087 SOM - B -" und neben dem Label "Seite D" das hier: "BOSS 81087 SOM - A -". Also hier dann doch A und B :-)

Nach dem "Goldmine Standard" würde ich den Zustand der Platte folgendermaßen bewerten:

Vinyl: G+ (Good Plus)
Sleeve: VG (Very Good)

Ich habe noch zwei Fotos ohne Hintergrundbeleuchtung gemacht, damit die Farbe des Vinyls besser rüberkommt. Ich habe sie natürlich nicht direkt auf die Fließen gelegt, sondern eine Posterrolle verwendet auf die ich sie mittig mit dem Label gesetzt habe.
I've made two pictures more to see the colour of the vinyl a little bit better. I've used a poster role and put the vinyl with the label concentric on it; of course not direct on the tiling.

The record was played during the last 20 years about five times. The cover of the LP is for their age in a very good state, means no tears, holes or coarser wear at the edges.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

It was kept over the years in a plastic cover and has merely a few discolorations which one sees of course on white background (look at the pictures).

In the upper part of the cover it has a crease of 10 cm, here it was not paid attention enough sometimes properly. However, otherwise it is free of creases.

A sticker with the label "Limited Edition on colored vinyl" is on the front cover.

Now to the vinyl. Its colour is very interesting above if one holds it against the light. I have lit up the vinyl on one of the pictures from the back to make the colours very clear. I have played the record again today and it ran through, but “hangs” two times (skipping). Maybe this can look different to another record player. But I think what will not disappear are the cracks and the rustling which for the whole play duration of the record is present. Please consider this. Else there will be disappointment if you get the item and hear it the first time. It’s not high fidelity. The state of the vinyl is used. It looks good, indeed, it’s more than 20 years old. But there are several small scratches or "hairlines". The labels are a little bit strange because they are marked with "Side C" and "Side D". The label of the side C is not stuck quite concentric. Whether all that has to be like that I do not know. In any case the following is scratched beside the label "Side C": " BOSS 81087 SOM - B - " and beside the label "Side D" this here: " BOSS 81087 SOM - A - ". Thus here A and B:-)

To grade the LP using the "golden mine standard " I would value the state of the record as the following:

Vinyl: F (Fair) - I think that's more realistic because of the "skipping" which today happened two times.

Sleeve: VG (Very Good)
